Let's Create A Text Adventure

First a little background: Text adventure games were popular in the early days of computers, before we had all the fancy graphics that we have now. The way it worked was that you would be told a story about your surroundings, and you would participate line by line, with the computer responding. So for example, the computer might say "You are in front of a door." and you would say "Open the door". They were fun because you could use your imagination to visualize what's going on, just as you can in a book. Anyone can create one, so I thought it might be a fun challenge to start with this forum. If anyone remembers these, it would be great for them to help lead us. We'll begin with the classic intro from an old game called Zork, but it can go anywhere from here: You are in an open field west of a big house with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here. Open mailbox. Opening the mailbox reveals: A leaflet

You read the leaflet, it says: I haven't played it in a long time, but I don't remember figuring out the egg thing either. You walk around to the western side of the house.
