Pretty nasty question for the ladies

Ladies: this is somewhat nasty, but when wearing a tampon, do you change it each time you urinate? I usually do, but sometimes the flow is light and I really have to go to the bathroom, and when I pull it out it's dry... I don't mind all that much when I urinate, but when I have a bowel movement I absolutely MUST change the tampon at that point! How many of you feel the same?
Do you use tampons, pads, or both? The first couple days of my period tend to be pretty heavy so I usually use both at the beginning of my period, and then just a slender tampon afterwards or a pantyliner.

I use both tampons and panty liners most of the time, but on occasion if I don't feel like using a tampon for some reason I'll use a pad. I usually change it after urinating as well, because to me, it's just gross to get pee on the string, and than have it sit there. I too, end up pulling it out sometimes and it is dry, but just keep picturing a peed on string touching my skin until the next time I change it.
Closer to the end of my period, it usually gets very light, to the point where I won't even need a tampon anymore, and I'll just use a pantyliner. I don't like using tampons too often, because they annoy me, I don't know why, they just always have. I also prefer using panty liners over pads anyday, because pads make me feel like I'm wearing a diaper!

no i didn't when i was using them, because the urination is not coming out of the same place, I changed it about 3 times a day.

I don't have mine anymore. But when I did, I was use both at the beginning too. Then just tampons and YES! I had to change after going to the bathroom every time. It is more sanitary at least it was to me.
