Nothing is worse than being cast aside because of our own pride.

Hello, jeannie! Every person in this earth is fallen prey to pride.while some body boast for his wealth, some body for his beauty and power and some body for his higher social status.but all these can not bring glory for him, rather it will make him discriminate from others as pride is associated with prejudice.so feel free to be honest and love others you will command respect.as regards me,i am proud of being loyal to people around me and to God.thank you.

Whoa! That's a piece so enriching. I love it. Yes, pride makes division and strays away people's love and support.

yes pride can be our own demise, it has made us don't accept help when we need it or ask for help when we need it, or admit when were wrong when we should have etc.

I subsidize my income with food stamps right now and I won't use them at a grocery store if the neighborhood is predominantly wealthy. I'm too embarassed and prideful to do that. I will go long out of my way to use a store that the people who frequent it are more liable to use food stamps. My son gets real upset with me and tries to explain to me that more and more people are having to subsidize their income this way. Whenever he sees something on the news he's always ready to point it out, but I just can't get past my pride.

You know Jeanniemay, I wouldnt call what I have developed of late pride. I think its more like stubbornness and assertiveness.
I used to be rather acccommodating of certain things in that I did not speak up enough even though I could be pretty vocal when I did so. I was far more apt to give someone the benefit of the doubt and try things their way but now Im passed that to some extent.
I am more prone to tell poeple no, which does surprise them a bit. I was far more willing to give poeple the benfit of the doubt but now Id just rather say whats on my mind inspite of. (lol)

hi jeanniemay! how ru , another interesting topic...^_^
considered as one of the 7 deadly sins:
1)Lust
2)Gluttony
3)Greed
4)Sloth
5)Wrath
6)Envy
7)Pride - or Vanity is considered the original sin and the most serious of the 7 deadliest sin, and indeed the ultimate source from which other sin arise. it is identifiable as a desire to be more important and more attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others through they are deserving them, and excessive love of self.
Smile always ^_^
