Ok I don't know you all that well, but I know I have told several of you that I have scoliosis and that I was trying to get on disability, as I really can't do anything with my back like it is.
I had an accident in 2003, x-ray at hospital from there to the lawyer, who sent me to the doctor. x-ray there, treatment that didn't help. Sent to an orthopedic who x-rayed me and told me he found scoliosis! Treated me for 1 month and released me as there was nothing else they could do for me.
2005 I went to a chiroprator on a free visit thing I won. Was told my scoliosis got worse and he could not guarantee any treatment would help me. I did not get treatment with a no guarantee on any relief.
2008 tring to get disability as I have given up having any kind of regular life again. Dr. appointment today, x-ray and exam............Dr. say's she feels a small curve in my back, but not enough to cause all the PAIN I am having. Looks at x-ray, shows me the x-ray.........small curve, but not where my pain is!!!!!
She said the curve could be from the way I was standing or the way the machine was!!!!!
Recommedation was to go to a free hospital (university) and get an MRI to check for NERVE damage!!!!!!!! Now I ask you for 5 years (May 24 will make 5 years) NO ONE COULD MENTION NERVE DAMAGE!!!!!
I was in so much pain today and she could tell, as I was moving like I was pregnant SLOW!!!
So I am going to get intouch with my doctor and see if he can make a recommendation for a MRI on my back to see what the heck is going on with me!
So I get rid of one nerve problem (my back shribbling) to I don't know what is wrong! All I know is I am glad my back isn't rotting away from scoliosis and I just have to think positively that it is something treatable and I can be free of pain again.
I think they will decline me on disability, but if I can be pain free, I DON'T CARE about the disability, as I can do things like work again (maybe).
Thanks for the well wishes on the other post, I just wanted to start a new one so I could explain how everything went in on discussion.
Have a great day all

Thank you DN I want the pain to stop more than I want the disability.
I want to be normal again if I can be. I miss shopping and having fun, now I shop and say we have to hurry because my back is hurting! Not fair to my daughter
I think I was going through depression, as I can't do too much and to find out I might be able to be treated for a nerve problem picked my spirit up a little

Good Luck on all of this. I am sure it is a hard time. Being in pain and not knowing the cause, and then being told something different each time you go into a Doctor. As I have been there myself with things, I am just wishing you the Best, and hope things improve from here. Please keep us updated.

Thank you I will keep everyone informed. My appt. is on April 28th, for my Primary Doctor who knows nothing about my back, because of the other doctors. Now I have to tell him the whole story and pray he will do the MRI on me.

I can see why you are confused! I think I'd be upset if I was told that I had scoliosis or something of that nature for five years and told I could not be treated or helped, then told something else entirely after all that time! I'd be happy it wasn't scoliosis, but furious at having been misdiagnosed for so long!
Anyways, I hope you get your MRI and find out what is causing the problem once and for all! Hopefully it is not to serious and you can be treated and get your life back!
Best wishes to you!

Thank you Betsy, I am furious about it. The look I had on my face when I came out of the dr. office my husband knew something wasn't right and I told him, I am very confused.........then I explained it to him.
Now I am nervous about what they may find after letting it go for so long. My sister said it could be a pinched nerve, and that can cause a lot of pain, well, I know that, as I have one in my neck and it acts up every now and then. Got it from sleeping wrong one night. I was praying that because I saw a woman who resembles my aunt this morning on the way to the dr. meant good news, well I did get some, I was misdiagnosed! Now I am praying for that same thing when I go for the MRI.
I always know that when I see a loved one that passed that it is to comfort me. Has been that way for years. Everytime I saw a resemblance to my ex-boyfriend I knew everything would be OK. He was my best friend and he always told me everything would be ok, so when I am going through something and I see him, I know it will be ok.
It is all signs from the spirit world, I really believe that.
Thanks again Betsy

hi 'orchid-that is an awful thing to have there is no reason why i can see that you will be declined on disability-there is always one thing they do count and that is your back also having scoliosis is a medicalcondition you will always have so they should award you with disability-i really hope the pain will ease for you as i can sympathize with you after breaking my back in 1993 which also has given me arthritis of the spine-but that is another story best wishes blessed be littleowl
