I was unaware that a vaccine even exists. I know a lot of people in many countries in the world who would love to have a vaccine, but for some reason they don't get one. We have a TB test that is given about the time children start school, no vaccine. It's treated with medication if the disease actually presents itself.
TB is not very common in our country, but has been steadily rising in certain areas with high immigration from areas around the world where it is.

May be you are right. I was told that the injection was to prevent the spread of it. And, as you know, as a kid, I didn't aware what exactly it was. It could be TB test, which is useful for early detection and in some way, help to 'prevent' the infection.
