1)making god's eyes... im not sure if you know what this is but it is a craft where you put two sticks or in this case pencils together and cross them and weave yarn around them... they are really pretty. 2)pointing at things on an overhead projector 3)flag pole for those tiny American flags you see on memorial day... i broke the stick off mine when i was little and taped the flag to the pencil. 4)ring holder.... if you tape it to a flat piece of cardboard you can use it to hold your rings that you are not wearing 5)earing backs... tear off the eraser and use it as an earing back if you lose one I come from a seven kid family so I guess this kind of thing comes natural because we always had to save money.

Hhmm 5 uses for a pencil OTHER THAN writing or drawing... Well you could use it.... to hold the wick straight when making candles to pin your hair up to stab someone in the eye to poke out someones eardrum as kindeling *sp* if you had enough of them play pick up sticks (again you must have more than one) to make a TeePee for Barbies little sister to rap your kids fingers when they try to steal the remote from you Yea thats all I have for now LOL.

What a weird question to ask at an interview, you would never in a million years dream that an interviewer is going to lay that one down on you, gee I would be speechless, good on you for coming up with some ideas, now bearing in mind I am not in that room so don't have the pressure or the stress of being watched and bearing in mind I have time to think about the question I am truly stuck for an answer, the only one I can think of is to poke your ear out with, don't laugh but I have done that in the past! Or used a pencil to scratch my back which I can't reach! I would have failed on that question for sure.

yes it is weird, but i suppose they want to get the most creative person,or some one who thinks outside of the box to work for them, this same mob asked 5 uses for a coathanger as well besides hanging up clothes.my first answer was break into a car, imagine what they thought then.cheers sue

five uses of a lead pencil other than drawing or writing. One could measure its length then use it as a small ruler. two you might use it to feather your eyebrows if youdid not have an eyebrow pencil. three you could stab an irritating person with it if they weretrying to hurt you; four, you could use it as a dart in a foam rubber dart game, five. you could draw worry lines on your face with it to amuse your kids
