Wrong place at the wrong time?? You withness how it happened? Think anything in court just need you to prove it with evidence. If the kid intentionally been there at that particular time and place then it seem more likely been plan otherwise why it din't claim as accident? Bear in mind if you request a second chance then it sound like its a kid's wrong.

No chance, in india tamilnadu, the same happend, he is prisoned and for this activity he has no excuse. But i don't know about foreign laws. But in india some times they give some chances, but it depends upon the persons activity.

If he is done a murder at the age 14 then i can say with confidence that this child wasnt able to enjoy his childhood as the usual kids do and this leads to harmful phsycological changes in the mind of kid which results in harsh and ruthless beahviour such as this. At this age he doesnt need to be put behind the bars. That would worsen his case. He needs some serious counselling and medical attention

it all depends it sounds like self defense to me too it seems like that is a pretty harsh punishment considering the details

If it's self-defense, yes. If he's just some badass kid with too much time on his hands and too little supervision, he should pay for his crime.

Was it preplanned? Was it self defense? I guess it depends on the circumstances.
