Dear, You have to choose a dog which will suit your household. If you have a court yard and an independent house you can go in for a bigger or medium sized variety, like Doberman, Dalmatian, German Sheperd etc. But if you live in a flat then it would be better for you to go in for Pomeranian, or Lhasa apso, etc The bigger and the medium sized varieties need place to run. Only then it'll be happy. Another thing you should not keep a pet if you are not ready to accept it as one in the house. You can talk to your pet in your mother tongue from the first, he will understand what you want to tell him. There should be someone to bathe and walk the dog regularly. All the best

Hello! Depending on the ages of the members in your family, you could have an appropriated dog. For example, I have a Boxer. I strongly recommend it. Why? Because it is a very lovely dog, it will always be looking after you and your family. He is a medium/big sized dog, and he loves children. Always a child, no matter how old is he. You'll have to dedicate some time to him, but that's what you would have to do with every dog. Beagles seems to be nice as well. Now, don't get too small dogs as they can be very agressive towards others. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I would focus less on the breed of dog and more on the traits of the individual dog. I would talk to the adoption counselors at your local animal shelter or rescue group. They would be able to match you up with the right dog. It might even be a mixed breed dog or a type of dog you didn't know about.

With you living in quite a hot country I would recomend a dog that firstly has a good temperment as you dont want the animal attacking you when it gets hot and bothered. A dog that is not to hairy as like the 1st requiremnt it will be quite hot, and also saves having big clumps of dog hairs all over your house. I would say a dog like a labrador but if you were more specifice on what your needs for the dog were ie pet/guard dog/children involved/fashion accesory then people might be able to help a little better.

If Children are involved, then Lhasa apso or dachshund would b better. Even dalmatian will be good since we have found ours to be very soft and friendly. Labs are also said to be very friendly. Decide on which would suit your house.

You need to evaluate how much time you can spend on caring for any pet. I read the suggestions about Lhasa Apsos, and while they are wonderful dogs, they require an IMMENSE amount of grooming or their coat becomes matted and tangled. If you are not an experienced dog owner I would definitely choose a short-haired dog, the upkeep is much more simple. We have an animal sanctuary with purebred and mixed breeds and I personally think rescuing a shelter dog is what I recommend. What ever you do, DO NOT BUY A PUPPY FROM A PET STORE OR A BACK YARD BREEDER. Check out puppy mills on the internet and you'll see why. No matter how much a particular breed is reputed to have certain qualities, that doesn't always hold true because of the poor breeding habits of puppy mills. Health and behavioral problems abound. You didn't mention how old your child is, and that would make a difference in choosing a pet. In fact, if your child is very young, it might be best to wait a little to get a pet. Toddlers can crush a small dog or stick a finger in the wrong place on a big dog, and get bitten. A final thought is whether you have a fenced yard for the dog to play in and relieve itself and whether you are willing to commit to having your dog be indoors as part of your family. It is cruel to put a dog on a chain outside. Many states are outlawing it. Plus, dogs are pack animals and need to feel they are a part of your pack, for best results.
