I was all for lethal injection as a way of putting criminals to death because I thought it was the most humane way to do it until I read an article this morning in the Yahoo news. It says that mistakes can be made that could actually cause the inmate to suffer excruciating pain and although I'm all for the death penalty I don't know if I want them to suffer through it and am having second thoughts about it!
What are your thoughts on the death penalty? Do you think lethal injection is the way to go? Did you know that mistakes can be made and the inmates would suffer? Does that bother you or not?

I would think as it would be doctors administering the injection it is a bit scary to think that they might be doing other things in the profession as well...I would have thought they would do as some vets do, when my cat had to be put down they gave an injection to put her asleep first, I thought she was gone but then they gave her one that actually stopped her heart...no pain at all...
No I don't agree with capital punishment, simply because there have been too many mistakes in the past... it is very easy for people to be set up and the legal system plays games and there are a lot of corrupt people sitting up there....

Since it is doctors who administer the injection I'm thinking that maybe they just don't care because these people are criminals and they don't care if they suffer.

Yea I knew about that...I think its fairly rare but it can happen....Regardless though, I still think its the most humane way if someone needs to be executed...Really if you think about it, mistakes can happen during ANY form of execution..
