Yes, it is true.
There are HATE SITES on the web that make my already too high blood pressure even higher. You must help! How? First, you have to be informed. So,let me give you just a small sampling of the vile hate of which I'm writing. These quotes are all from the same web site whose url I'll give near the end of this post.
"Jihad? Fatwa? Wahhabism? Islamist terrorism? All terms distorted or created by the U.S. government and media to stigmatize the Muslim religion and scare the public -- or so CAIR officials would have you believe."
CAIR is an internationally respected civil rights organization. How dare anyone insinute CAIR is lying when they call the known liars of the US government liars?
"Repeated statements by CAIR's leaders illustrate the group's extremist and anti-Semitic positions."
How dare they make such a claim? Be sure to check out this lie for yourself. See if they have any facts to back this up. What do you bet they don't?
"In a series of thorough and carefully documented articles, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has detailed the sinister side of the self-proclaimed Muslim civil rights group CAIR."
Sinister? Sinister! They have gone too far. Surely, this is libel. Take delight in reading the lame information it is pretended substantiates this name calling. You will enjoy knowing these haters are bound to be sued for this.
"For the Record: MAS' Insulting Comparison: Dr. Martin Luther King to Sami Al-Arian."
At the hate site being discussed they had the nerve to publish a negative article concerning a Muslim American Society article favorably comparing Dr. Martin Luther King to the great Muslim activitist, Sami Al-Arian. Both of these great heroes have endured hunger strikes in jail in support of their deepest held beliefs. All to make this a better world. What is wrong with this hate site to critize making this a better world?
Discussing these hate mongers is not enough. You must learn their methods and know what they say to know how to stand up to them.

Will you join me in standing against hate and ignorance? Will you tell as many people as possible about this site and their message?
Please, feel free to say what you really think about this site's message.
I will take my tongue out of my cheek when I reply.

Gnosisquest said it pretty well.... I would just add that ANY organization or group that is trying to get any Hate Speech/Crimes legislation passed is trying to prevent the truth from being told, or to get special consideration for specific groups or activities.
This of course in in direct violation of our Constitution in the areas of Equal Protection and Freedom of speech and Protected Speech.
If someone is afraid of the truth or doesn't want it told, then they either have something to hide, or they are trying to mislead, or they are trying to stifle the voice of opposition.
Usually it is a combination of some or all of the above.

I would agree totally that sites like the one being discussed should flourish. I'm publicizing this web site as much as I can. They make their point as well as any I've ever seen.
I also totally agree that some of those who squawk the most concerning hate speech/crimes sometimes are those with something to hide.
Let's have freedom of speech for everyone and libel law civil suits for the liars. This is the way to insure the truth gets out.

I think that people that have hate against other people should be imprisoned for a little while so that they can nget the help that they need.

The problem with what you recommend would be in the ELEMENTS OF PROOF of the crime. For anything to be considered a crime and to be proved in a court of law, ELEMENTS OF PROOF must be established. The problem is that practically any set of elements of proof for 'HATE' would most certainly interfer with FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Then again, one person's hater is another's freedom fighter. It is best to require a behavior be criminal rather than an attitude or state of mind like hate.

G'day Red, you are correct again, I think.
Crikey mate, speaking to an Arabian person these days is a bit like speaking to a Russian back in the 60's and 70's. Who's under your bed, ahhhhhh.
Well, you're own government for a start. Now that is scarey.

G'day to ya'll down under in Victor Kilo land.
I like your analogy comparing the Arabian of today with the Soviet citizen of 30 years ago. Darn good comparison. Thanks.
