I use windows XP. For some serious virus attack, i have lost My ComputerTools "Folder Option" and when i click on search toolbar, the search tab does not appear. i'm using NEC brand PC, and if i try to repair, it deletes all previous data. Can I fix these problems without setup windows again?? Please help me!

You can enable folder option by typing gpedit.msc in Run dialogue box. Have a good antivirus and update it regularly. Keep your computer safe from virus. Do not install unsafe softwares. Careful about viruses which spread through pendrives or usbdrives.

If you have the windows XP Cd with you it would save time. Just uninstall the program and reinstall it . It should work out fine . I had a problem and I did it like that. If you do not have the CD with you then go in for a system virus scan through a free AVG scan. All the best

I encountered a similar annoyance with "Autoit" virus, I cannot view hidden files, run DOS command prompt, RUN is disabled even Regedit. I don't think you have to reinstall windows. If you have an anti-virus update it and do a system scan. If none, use AVAST or AVG (they're free) just ensure its virus definitions are updated before a system scan. Hope this helps.
