On Lover's Tattoo

Its been a fad these days to sport tattoo and some lovers would express their love by means of sporting or having their lover's name tattooed on their body. I personally would not like to have one as there are other ways to say how I love the person and my level of commitment. Would you have your lover's name tattooed on you?

I am older so no I would not do it, my son has done it and is no longer with these lovers, but he says he does not regret it.

Its good to hear that your son has no regret over his tattoo. Well that love might have been good to keep it though.

I agree that there are more ways to express or show your love than having yourself tattooed.

I can express my love as well without having it printed or tattooed on my body. Tattoos are only superficial. Besides, I never liked tattoos per se. But I respect the choice of those who profess their love and feelings that way.

Well, as they say, to each his own an I too respect them if they feel so much love for the other person and sport a tattoo.

No..I agree with what you have said about showing our love. We have different ways and getting Tattoo is not included in those ways for me!

no-it is never a good idea to have anyone's name put on you,unless it's a "memory of" tattoo.if you break up with the person (as often happens) then you'll have to get it removed/covered up.

No, I personally don't think it's a good idea to tattoo your lovers name on your body. Who knows if you will be with that person for the rest of your life! I would never do it, and I would never let anyone that I'm involved with do it. My boyfriend wouldn't want to anyway. I think it's okay to put a family member or friend that maybe has passed away, or even putting your kids or your mother and father, but never your lover! Some people find themselves having to get their tattoos redone because they ended up leaving or being left by a lover. You wouldn't want to have someone's name on your body, and then end up having that person leave you!

I wouldn't put any lover's name on my body. My sister put the guys name on her back in big letters and now they are not together anymore. No matter how in love you are and think you will live together forever, things happen and couple break up over anger or cheat, whatever, I just remember my older sister has her ex husband tattood on her ankle and she now is remarried and she thought that one would last forever, but life goes on things happen. :O
