We had shopping to do today - in a neighboring town. Since it was earlier in the afternoon then when we usually go there my son asked if we couldn't stop by a second hand/ pawn shop that we haven't been to in a while.... sure, why not. We are on friendly terms with the owner and even if we do not buy anything it is always enjoyable to visit for a bit. well, the first thing the owner said to us after the greeting was "I just got a wii system in" the price was 189.95 but he offered it to my son for $175.00 - He jumped on the deal he got: 2controllers with nun chucks classic remote stand wii sports classic control still in original unopened package. He also picked up two wii games (one unopened unused) for $15 each. He thinks he got a great deal, and is so excited.

That is a good deal for your son, he's lucky. I like playing games on the WII, and I want to get one of my own. My sons and daughter all have one, so I have to wait to go visit them to play the games. I had fun playing the boxing game, except my daughter kept knocking me out. I could beat her on the baseball game. The last time I tried Guitar Hero, and I didn't do very well, but it was fun.

The guitar shaped controller is kind of expensive, in my opinion, at around a hundred bucks. It was fun though. It's not anything like playing a real guitar, and in fact, a real guitar is easier.

oh hehe, too bad they do not make it realistic to playing real guitar, it could be a great system of tutoring and teaching an instrument to people - for real. I guess they figure if the person actually learned to play guitar they would not be as interested in gaming?

That is a really good deal!! I just had to convert it into english money to see what it was, but that is fantastic!! My son will be really jealous when I tell him. I have to agree with your son in thinking that he did get himself a good deal.

last night he looked through the system calendar and found out that it had only been played about a half a dozen times.... so it is basically as new

Sounds like he got quite a bargain. I love it when I get something for a really good price.. I sometimes find really nice pinkie rings at the local pawn shop in their melting gold. They keep a small box of little gold trinkets, pinkie rings, charms etc. for melting and sell them really cheap if you ask about them...lol I learned that secret from a friend. I have found many pawn shops have such stashes...lol Blessed Be, Mari

When we bought the WII system we also bought an extra bowling game. Don't do that because the bowling game that comes with the WII is absolutely good enough. Better yet is one of the bowling practice games. Once we introduce people to it they never want to play the regular bowling game again. It is the practice game that increases the pins as you go along. I think everyone likes the challenge of see how many pins they can get down and how big a score they can get. It is a long running competition in our house as we all try to beat each others score. Speaking of that my son-in-law just beat hubby yesterday with a score of 649. Believe me it is hard to get. It is really fun. Maybe I will sell my 50.00 bowling game on eBay or something because we really didn’t need it but we didn’t know. My son-in-law and husband also like tennis a lot. Have a great time with the game.

I am not sure if we will ALL enjoy it - one of his sisters begged that he let her play this evening, when he was taking his shower - and he said no way. I told her it is new and cost him a lot of money wait until the novelty wears off - be patient and he might be less strict about it.

That's a pretty good deal. Is it in pretty good condition? I could've gotten mine in a second hand store, but when I can get things new, I try for that.

Oh yeh he got a sweet deal. My daughter bought one at Christmas time and just the wii was over 300 dollars. I know Canada is higher priced but still. Good for your son. Good deal, he'll enjoy.

What a great find! I never thought about looking in a pawn shop for one. That would probably be a good place also to look for games. Might just have to venture into one the next time I drive by it. Hope he has fun! I know we love ours!

Mine cost a bit more than that, plus I didn't get 2 extra games (I don't count wii sports as a "full" game, still good game though). As long as the Wii works, he did get a good deal. Plus you can get older NES, SNES, Sega games via the virtual console (but you need Wii points from any electronics store).

yes, it all works and is like brand new... we figure either the family fell on hard times and needed to pawn it (there were some 20 games there as well) or the kid misbehaved and they took it from him as a consequence.... couldn't understand otherwise why such a new system would be pawned off. Son has a lot of game cube games that he will be able to use with it, so that is good.

Wow he got a really good deal! My older kids have a Wii at their dad's house that they play all the time. I have only played one game myself. I wanted to play bowling but someone scratched the Wii Sports game. My husband has been wanting to get me a Wii but he can't ever find a store that has one. We have an Xbox 360 that we have a lot of fun with though!

the kids were playing the boxing on the sports disc last night and having a roaring time. son really wanted me to bowl with him, but with my foot just getting out of the cast and being very weak I decided to wait on that excitement!
