I have always came home each night and thrown my quarters, dimes nickels and pennies into a jar. It becomes a habit after awhile. My mom does this as well. Do you save your change? I have saved hundreds of dollars in change, it's handy to have when something comes up and you need some extra cash.

The day we moved in together, we started doing this. We just moved in together in December, but have already saved up $314 in change. It really is a habit now. When I break a bill, I throw the coins in the bottom of my purse, because I won't dig for them when I need to pay for something. Then at the end of the day, I empty out my purse and put the change in the jar. My 3 year old is starting to save pennies also. In her Dora bank.

it is a good habit to pass down to our kids. My 6 year old also saves the change from his school pretzel money.

We have a small bowl we use. We really don't carry cash often so we don't need a large place to keep change.

I have a giant plastic Budweiser bottle which I use for all my spare change. I've had this bottle for a number of years a couple of years back I cashed it up to see how much was in there. I was shocked to find that I had almost £150 in small change.

I have an old demijohn jar and the only coin that doesn't fit is a £2 one so all the rest go in. The last time I raided it I got £210 from it so it is well worth doing. I spoke to my brother the other day and he has two giant brandy glasses he puts his change into, silver in one and copper into the other, he had emptied the silver one and got over £500 from it.
