All because of high Gas prices. What do you think will happen? It is almost $4.00--$5.00 Reduce High Gas Prices! Do you agree? Maybe we should go on strike to not buy the Gas? Well No, I was just joking but something has to be done! These Gas prices are getting ridiculious!

If any of the UK members chime in you'll feel lucky for only paying $4.00 a gallon LOL but I'm right here with you on this one. I don't work outside the home but I do know it costs me roughly $7 dollars for gas just to go grocery shopping...and over time that adds up to a fair amount of groceries that I can't get anymore. S/o works in the same town as the grocery store but gets worse gas mileage...probably 1/2 of what I get with my car and he has to drive there 6 days a week.
They have us backed against a wall...and between a rock and a hard place...and over a barrel...and whatever other cliche you can think of...because they know that those of us in rural areas especially have to keep driving to work and to the stores. We don't have public transportation, we don't have anything within walking distance, we have no choice in the matter. They could charge us $10 a gallon and we would have to keep buying it.

I now see $4 a gallon regularly here where I live. It's hard to find anything under $3.75. And, public transportation is so expensive, too. I have to have a car because I drive to different places each day I work and many of those places have no public transportation on the days that I work. I also work until late at night and the buses often don't run at those times. So, public transportation is not an option. Neither is walking or riding my bike. No one wants to wait for me to change in my bike clothes before and after work as I don't have a key to any of the places where I work.
I drive just about the smallest car they make in the United States and I just had my fuel system cleaned, so I'm getting the best gas mileage I can. But, they cut my work hours down so I hardly ever drive.

Yes I do remember ou saying it was a Metro, now you really don't have to burn much gas with that car. I have a Hyndaudi Alantra it is good on gas. good thing it isn't any bigger. So what do you do to get Fuel system clean, do ou buy one of those cans that you put in your Gas Tank to clean it out?

Actually, the Metro was having too many problems all at once and I bought an Aveo a couple of months ago. I actually went to the dealer and they cleaned all the varnish off the throttle plate, the intake manifold and fuel injectors. They also ran some cleaner through the system. I was having a sticky throttle, anyway, so it needed it. Now, the car not only runs better, it gets better gas mileage.
Those gas tank treatments don't do much unless you are trying to get water out of your tank. They're basically just soap that's safe to be mixed with fuel.

Gas prices are unreal and they are effecting our lives in everyway. I feel that it isn't paying me to work anymore. My daughter who is under age 18 and earns minimum wage is paying almost as much for a gallon of gas as she earns in an hour. That is so crazy!!
I work part time and last week my check was $181 and it cost me $80 to put gas in the car. That means I made $100 for a weeks' work. I work about 30 hours per week so I am probably averaging about $3.10 per hour after I pay gas!! I think that it is time that we find a way to keep from paying these prices and allowing these gas companies to rob us blind!!

That is so terrible, I really didn't think about it like that, You are only working to go to work, and you are not making to much after you buy gas, Wow that is Crazy I hope you have some help. sounds like you need it, I can't understand why can't the goverment do any thing, for every state? Thanks for you input?

You are so right Marcia!! I went today and put $15 in my van and didn't even get four gallons of gas. It is absolutely ridiculous. My husband has said that this summer since my daughter isn't going to be taking any college classes that he may drive her car to work instead of his truck because it gets much better gas mileage. I told him that I think that is a very smart idea. We have some traveling to do in June but I sure dread having to fill my van up to do it.

Hi Shelialee, that would be the smart thing to do use the smaller Car. I went to get some gas and the price was $3.59 I only had $2.00 at the time. how much do you think that is worth not much. Then later on I went to put $10.00 and that was all I could do so if I put in $12.00 then that would be probaly 3.5 gal. It make me so sick. Do you think the Pres, will try to do anything about it? Brush sure isn't.

Is that for real? That's absurd!!! From where I come from - Malaysia, our petrol price went up 3 times last year. It's RM1.92 for a litre. Back in those days it was slightly less than RM1 for a litre. There's news that it might go up again but we don't know when. Hope it doesn't go up though after the change of our new government.

I know you were joking about going on stike but if it could be done (which it can't) that sure would make the price of gas go down. My husband and I are lucky in that we work right in the city that we live in. So if a strike were realistic which it isn't it would not create a problem for us. Both of our jobs are in walking distance and I thank God everyday for this blessing.

Well marciascott we need to rely on more natural products such as electric powered cars, or perhaps water or hydrogen powered cars instead of relying on oil to full cars. Plus, gasoline and the byproducts are filled with bad stuff that our environment doesn't need.

Well you are right Marcia, these gas prices are really getting outragious.I really do not know what we the people are going to do about them.I know that I have already cut back as far as how much I drive. Now the people that are making minumum wage will really not be able to afford to go to work, unless they car=pool or something like that.People will always need to buy gas, but if everyone would refuse to buy gas one or two days out of the week this may help some. But getting everyone to do it is another story!!If I could ride a bike, I would be rideing one.Mayebe even a horse if I could afford to feed one..LOL

I know. I think it is rediculous of the prices on gas these days. Like you
said that some prices are already up to $4 a gallon. I don't know what people are going to do with theirselves to get what they need, to go to work, and to do whatever they like to enjoy doing out in town. LOL If i knew that we could go on strike about the Gas prices, believe me that i
would go on strike. LOL I would push it as far as i could push it to bring the prices go down. And i agree with you Marcy that something has to be
done about the high gas prices. Heck, i read somewhere where they was
fussing about their jobs, and that the pay rate was still the same, but the
gas prices are going up, and a lot of people are losing their jobs because of it. we hardly don't ever go out anymore now since it's been uup that high before.

There is always going to be a high demand for fuel. It is a pain but what are we going to do about it. Honestly there isn't much to do about it. The only way that you can do something about it is to have a price war between the fuel companies. There is no way we can boycott gas and to say that you are going on strike and not going to buy gas is not going to work. There are many emails going around to boycott and not buy gas on a certain day. If everyone did this and to just have to have it on one day your not going to do much. The only way to help this matter is to stop buying gas from the two major gas compaines Esso and Shell. If everyone stops buying gas and going to other places for gas Esso and Shell will be forced to bring it down. But the thing with this WE ALL have to stop buying gas from these two fuel companies. And it won't just be for one day. It will be for awhile.

The sad thing is that no matter how high gas prices go, we will still pay for it. We have to get to work, church, the movies, ect. So, we will always need gas to fuel our cars. I believe the gas companies are doing everything to make a dollar, so they keep raising the prices. It's sad if you ask me. We really need to figure out something to stop the prices from rising. I remember when I bought my first car (2001) and it only took $9 to fill it up. I had a really small car. Now that same car would take about $20 to fill. So sad!

Well, $5.00 is nothing to put in your tank, that is what i had to put in my tank, Gas here is like $4.35 to $4.50 I have a Small Car, but it really doesn't make much difference.

Oh I agree the price of gas is way to high.I`m wondering why people aren`t car pooling like they did a few years. When gas was only $2.00 a gallon.people need to join together and do what ever it takes to slow down gas useage. They need to take a hard look at where their wasting gas and put a stop to it.If we don`t slow down the use of gas now,it will be $8.00-$10.00 a gallon by the end of 2008

You're right. Every now and then we hear of gas price hike and the poor consumers seem so helpless about this.
Why would gas be so expensive when they are taken from natural resources under the ground?
In my province of Palawan, rumor has it that it is rich in oil that is why China and Saudi Arabia want to take a piece of land where they can start digging for oils.

wouldn't be all bad. More people would use public transport or their own legs. The roads would be a lot clearer, meaning less accidents and less strain on emergency services. The air quality would improve immensely reducing even further the burden on hospitals.
But I suppose that's not the point. Rich are getting richer and the rest of us are just being left behind! I reckon I will be walking my daughter to and from school soon, which is going to take upto 2 hours of my day.

I feel that I'm vary lucky because I still can smile when buying gas and still can have a long run with my car. I 'm lucky enough because my state main product is gas. What ever it is, we still have problem with gas. The drastic price increase have make people panic and some take this advantage by smuggling gas to make bigger income.

Yes, they are getting rediculous. The gas here in Pennsylvania, is almost to $3.50 so far per gallon. We have to drive 15-20 miles to and from work everyday, so it's going to get eaten up pretty fast. I mean, don't they realize that most of us don't make great money with our jobs? Gosh, but they don't really care either.
