All about star colors and numbers...

I am wondering what determines the colors of the stars that we have and what is the ranking of the star colors... I do know that the inner numbers are important but I remain confused about their importance. I have heard some people say that they have lost rankings, dropped in the color of their stars and in the numbers in their stars but I must admit I am confused about this... Help! Thanks!

In general,it is said that the reputation is calculated based on the fellow mylotters rating of your response/discussion and comment. I am not sure, but I think this is how the reputation is calculated. When one reaches 100 posts, ones reputation will be kept at 50/100,I mean a 5 star. Then the number of positive ratings you got from fellow mylotters will be taken. For example if you have got 30 positive ratings in your 100 posts, you will then get a reputation of 80/100,I mean a 8 star. When one comments, the number of posts won't increase. So,when someone rates ones comment, your reputation will be increased much more.Similarly, when someone rates you negative, your reputation will decrease. The repuation is always converted into a base of 100 posts. But,its no longer the accurate way of judging one. This mylot reputation has been abused a lot of times and there are also a number of complaints about the sudden decrease in the reputation. Cheers! Have a great day Happy mylotting and happy earning

So, there is for those who want to harm a way to do it and for those who like myself want to build people up and make them feel better a way to do that... Hmm I had not known until this week even that there was a way to rate people. Now, I rate most people positively but sometimes forget to rate anyoen... I will not give a bad ratings... sounds too cruel. I wonder at those who do.

Yea,you are right. I don't know why some one rates negative, just because they don't accept their opinion 'Its impossible to satisfy every one' Cheers! Have a great day

You see these stars represent how other users have reated your posts here on myLot. If they have rated positive for you you will have a higher number and you will get a higher payout for each post that you make. And if your posts are not rated or negatively rated then you will have a lower rank and less payouts. That is why everyone is concerned about thier rankings

What colors are higher and what colors are lower? I just began rating people today using the pluses to the right of the posts. I had not known prior to today that one could even do this... I have been marking people positively starting today as I understand that it matters a great deal for a lot of people. Prior to this, I just marked best responses... and made sure that I answered most if not all posts that others did in my discussions. Wondering if you ever mark a best answer and also a positive rating for the same person or if you just mark the best answer for one person and the positives for the others in the group.

You don't need to know the colors. The numbers in between represent the rank too. Like yours is 10 which is the highest. And rating positive to someones post increases their rank, but selecting best response is totally upto you.

Is there any difference in the color or is it just the number that is important? I am curious to know.

as i have told by other members, the stars are not essential for earning more, i believe it, because someone with 1 star and 10 stars will have equal earning if they post the same amount of comments or discussions, what i am saying is the stars are not important for your earning, and if you read the guidelines(i think) you will find that the stars are worthless, anyways am not interested in the stars, what am interested in is my earning, am happy to see it increasing day to day, happy mylotting!!
