Hi everyone! Have you seen the movie "Meet The Parents"? I think that it's really funny.
Now, how about the real thing? Was the first meeting with your partner's parents memorable for you? What made it memorable?
I met my husband's mother first. We went to their house and he introduced me to her. She was really nice and we like each other instantly. Up to now, she always tell me that I'm her favorite daughter-in-law and always take time to cook special meals, usually my favorites whenever we're coming to their house for a visit.
I met my husband's father in my sister-in-law's house. He introduced me and we all had diner together.
How about you? What's your "Meet the Parents" story?

I met my fiance's parents on his dad's birthday in October. We met them at Texas Road House, and I suppose it was an enlightening experience. I spent the night with him that following sunday (as his dad's birthday was on a Thursday).
His mother was more talkative then his father was. I remember we both ordered chicken fritters (My fiance and I) and I also remember wondering if I should pay for my part. I remember being freaked out about meeting them, and texting a few people while we waited for them.

Hi there Cowgirl!
I understand and remember how tense I was back then whenever my first time of meeting my boyfriend's parents comes. So, did you offered to pay for your part?
Thank you very much for your response.

I see. It doesn't seem right to me to ask you to pay for it anyway. It is after all, a birthday celebration of his father.

I wanted to ask my fiance if I should but I didn't wanna be so rude and whisper. They didn't seem to mind at all,or give any inclination that I should pay for my part.

I saw this movie as well as the next one -- Meet the Fockers movie. They're both funny movies. I like it.
When I met my first boyfiren's parents, I was so tense. What would they say but I was more concerned on what would I say instead. I was still 16 then and conscious about that things. But thankfully it went well.

The first time I met his parents was great ha. They live 3 hours away and well we took my car. Well we were almost there when my engine blew because well there was no oil in my engine (im car stupid knew nothing about oil now I do lol). So my 1st meeting was bringing his dad my broken car on a tow truck and asking him to fix it. It worked as an ice breaker for sure. And yes he did fix it.

Hi there Minnie!
That's a good way to meet his parents I think. Good way in the sense that you didn't feel pressured or had to think about what you should talk about.
Thank you very much for your response.
