It is safe and less expensive to use petroleum jelly as an alternative to an antibiotic ointment in caring for clean minor cuts, it is also has equal low rate of infection, it is less likely to cause allergic reactions and healing rate is similar to those antibiotic ointments. Try it for I have used it and experienced its healing power.

Yes!! Petroleum Jelly is used for a lot of health reklated things, and yes it can be used in the place of ointments and creams for burns and scars that need to be healed. Its very soft nothing to abrasive or can cause much pain to the person using it if it is applied to a scar. Not only scars but as far as moisture goes. After taking a bth or a shower i alwayus get a small amount to use on my legs and arms. And maybe its just me, but it makes your skin so so very soft.

Thanks for this info. I'll try to use it sometime or whenever theres a need. At least this is a lot cheaper than antibacterial onitments or cream.
