I started the day off watching the Pope at Ground Zero this morning on the news. Very touching as he blessed the area then met and talked briefly with a few survivors and victims family at the sight. My wife and I did a lot of yard work as well as it was in the low 70's and very nice. I also started a small bag of compost using egg shells, leaves, twigs, coffee grounds and watermelon rinds. We went for a bike ride this afternoon of about 5 miles or so. We had to stop to put air in her tires as they lost a lot of air from sitting in the garage all winter long. That was great exercise biking today. We had spaghetti with gralic bread sticks for dinner. An hour or so later we had Apple Pie for dessert as well. Then at about 9 tonight she asked me if I wanted to take a walk. So her, I, and Buster our beagle went for about an hour long walk in the dark. It was about 65 wehn we walked and was so pretty. The moonrise was a large full moon almost that was very orange. We had a great day today. What was your day like today? Did you see a bright orange sunrise tonight?

Hi GRANDPA BOB! That sure sounds like a great day! I sure hope you will have more great days for always my friend. I spent my Sunday with hubby moping around
and my niece who is so sweet and talkative, asking a lot of questions about life and ants.
But looking back, I guess it is just one of those days when you woke up feeling good and smiling big time then one by one, everything is going wrong. Just my thoughts dear friend! Take care and have nice day!

Hi Grandpa Bob,
What a lovely day you had, with lots of variety in it too. I'm sure seeing the Pope at Ground Zero, was very inspiring, while sad at the same time.
As for my day, I went to church in the morning, and on the way home was treated to my favourite 'Tim Horton's coffee, and some Timbits.' Timbits are what you'd call the donut holes, I guess, and they come in assorted types. Have you heard of Tim Horton's? They're very famous in these parts.
Upon arriving home, I made myself a ham and cheddar cheese omellette, as my daughter was out for the day. I was hoping she'd be home for dinner, but she called and said she was going with friends, to one of my favourite chicken restaurants. I've heard rumours, by the way, that you hate chicken. Is this true?
I couldn't justify ordering dinner for myself from this chicken place, so I had a sandwich instead.
Other than that, I spent the bulk of the day online, and did manage to watch a movie ... a chick flick.
I'll have to do some sunset gazing, when I can, as I do love them. Take care.

Seeing the Pope brought tears to my eyes as the survivors etc kissed his ring genuflecting at his feet. A very somber scene to say the least. I've heard of them but have not seen any here in Minnesota. But I love donut holes. hell I love all baked goodies just about.
I hate chickern? Ummm, let's just say I call it seagull.
I do eat seagull but it is near the bottom of my list of favorite foods. Been chatting with Minnie a bit huh? What movie did ya watch? I like chick flicks a LOT more than I like seagull. You sound like you had a nice fun day.

I'm not surprised that you love donut holes, and your craving for baked goodies is no secret either.
Tim Horton's has yummy baked treats, and I especially love their strawberry custard tarts, which should be arriving soon, as they're seasonal. I absolutely love chicken ... seagull indeed!
Yes, I've been really enjoying getting to know Minnie, and she's a great 'friend' to have. I'm happy she invited me. As for my 'chick flick,' it was Shall We Dance, starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and Jennifer Lopez. By the way, all of these myLot food topics of late, have got me craving chocolate badly. I'm going to do my best to acquire some this evening.

Glad you had a great day! Sounds like you got plenty of exercise too! I had to work, so I missed the SUNSET.
LOL at the fact that I didn't know the sun rised at night!
So did you take your camera with you and take any pics? I'm just learning about my camera and all the settings so hope to be taking some pics that I can add images here.

That was such a nice day and lovely spending it with your wife. You are so blessed enjoying your time with your loved one. How I wished I will do the same when I get old. But today was a nice day also with me as I get to spend a lot of time cleaning the house and my room especially. I am having the deadline to clean a mezzanine which I later plan to convert into a workstation and resting station for me and my siblings. Its always nice to end the day knowing that you have accomplished something even small it may seem.

My wife works 6 days a week, and Sundays are her only time off. We don't get a lot of alone time except on Sundays. She starts work at 5 p.m. on Saturdays but our daughter and grandsons are usually over so we do things with them. But Sundays are OUR times usually. Some times we go out alone for dinner and a movie or do yard or house work together. It is great just being together.

Yes I did! But I'm afraid I'm the only one who saw it, and I said "the setting son is bright orange!" and nobody said anything, nor seemed at all interested. We were all inside after our various day's activity. I did some yard work while hubby spent all day putting a winch on his new atv. It took him from the afternoon to almost sunset. When he took a break we both sat on a bench, and he was reading his instructions. He said it was saying it was a 30 minute job, and that he guessed he was a little behind schedule. Later I helped him with some bolts which were very hard to reach. By time I said "the sun is bright orange" we were all inside and everyone was waiting for our very late supper.
- Glad you had such a very nice day..

I actually meant the rising moon at the end of the discussion. Hahaha! About 9 p.m. the moor here was a BRIGHT orange as it rose above the horizon. I didn't see the sunset though. An ATV? Hmmmm? My birthday is a month or so away. Nahhh! I know my wife won't get me one. She doesn't even get me a card.

Yesterday, my power went out in the morning, before I had a chance to take a shower, since I have well, and the water pump runs on electric. It wasn't windy enough to knock down tree branches, the usual cause of outages around here, so I don't know what the problem was.
I'm the morning caregiver for my friend's mom, so I went over to check on her, and fix her breakfast. I discovered that the power was out there too, and all down the main roads.
After that, I went over to my daughter's house, and we went out to a Japanese restaurant to get some sushi for lunch, and we did a little shopping.
My husband worked yesterday, and when he got home, the power was back on. I brought him dinner from his favorite Mexican restaurant, and then I was so tired, I went and took a nap. When I woke up, the house was dark, and empty. My husband was in the back garage, putting in the dashboard on his old Barracuda. I heated up some leftovers, and watched a movie.
Our moon didn't look orange, but it was shining bright last night, and my dog wanted to go running around. I played out side with her a little bit, and then went to bed.

Bummer. I know about well water and poweroutages. That's what is at
the farm up north. Might have been an accident where a transformer
was knocked down or just an overload on a transformer. Maybe you've found out the reason by now. Sounds like you had an overall good
Sunday as well.

I had a wonderful sunday too....I got up at my friends in Wisconsin to thick fog. The day before I got to see the wild turkeys they have walking across their lawn so hoped to see them or the bear that uses their property for a short cut to where ever....after we got dress we all went out for breakfast! That is my favorite meals to eat out! Then after breakfast I started home and drove for about four hours. Got home and did laundry and a few other things before crawling in my own bed! It's nice to go visit....but so nice to come home!

Where at in WI? I've friends all over from my drinking days plus some of my poker/casino going friends in the West central area. I've had wild turkeys in my driveway before. In the city none the less. I want to plan a trip up to the farm with my son-in-law soon as well.

I wished Ihad known about the pope and I would have watched it.Instead I had a sleep in this morning and did not get up til almost noon then took my access bus to Larwin Square where I treated myself to lunch and then went and did a bit of grocery shopping. I even treated myself to a taxi home with all mygroceries. I found my son busy carrying out all the old newpapers he had accumulated over the past four years. I was so glad to see him doing that that I did not even say I wished you had done that three years ago. I am proud of myself for not saying that.lol.Mothers can be a pain.apple pie Ilove it and wish it was a given for a diabetic.I have eaten sugar free apple pie and its not bad but something in it, the crust probably, still shoots my blood sugar up.the moon was gorgeous here tonight. and it warmed up this afternoon to about seventy or so.

OMG! You don't watch the news then? The Pope has been in the States for a week almost. He was imn DC forst off then traveled to NYC. He did a mass at Yankee Stadium I think also. Not sure where the mass was but I wasn't home to watch that. He flew back to the Vatican Last night though I think. Sometime Sunday he left for home anyhow. 4 years of newspapers collected? YIKES! We recycle our papers every two weks here in Minnesota. Glad you had a good Sunday as well.
