Here's a quote from Hillary Clinton.
"Hillary: If Iran Attacked Israel With Nukes 'We Would Be Able to Totally Obliterate Them'"
Here's a link to the complete story that goes with the quote.

So, is Hillary a war monger or not? Remember, now, that Hillary is very careful with words and like her husband is very good at appearing to say one thing while saying something else.
Note that Hillary did not say we 'will' obliterate Iran, she said we 'would be able to'. Well, so what? Of course, we 'would be able' to obliterate Iran. We would be able to obliterate Iran now, not that we would. Hillary is stating a meaningless fact and hoping people will jump to a conclusion, IMHO.
What do you think is the intent of Hillary Clinton in regards to this quote. Is she being deceptive?

I guess you must have missed the first part of this statement...
"I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran," Clinton said. "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."
She is trying to portray herself as tougher and more qualified than Obama.
There is a small problem however... a few months ago Bush made4 a statement expressing concerns about Iran and was called a warmonger and worse, and ever so often someone will still post a discussion about Bush invading Iran before he leaves office.
In the interests of fairness and by using the same standards that are being applied to Bush, I would have to say that Hillary is indeed a warmonger.

You are right. I missed that statement where Hillary did clearly state she would use force against Iran. Thank you for correcting my error. I hate being in error, but as my wife tells me all the time, I should be use to it by now.
Still, I hope you will concede Hillary and her husband are so mealy mouthed it is just natural to be suspicious of anything they say.
Thank you again for the correction.

I don't trust anything any politician says, but I especially don't trust anything a liberal politician says, and certainly not one named Clinton or Obama.

I have to admit I found that remark a bit worrisome. I've heard some of the pundits say they think that comment helped Hillary but it sure didn't help with me. I don't know if she thinks she has to act extra "tough" because she's a woman or what her motive was with this statement. I'll say this much - I don't think she's nearly as much of a war monger as McCain so she'd still get my support against him but I really hope more than ever that Obama is the Democratic nominee.

anniepa,
Good to hear from you. I find all of Hillary's remarks worrisome. She always leaves me wondering what she really meant. Don't count Obama out yet. He could still win. In fact, I think he is ahead.
