Applying to Take Standardized Tests with Accommodations

I've never taken a standardized test using accommodations. But I have to take the GRE and the MCAT soon and I've heard that most people run out of time taking these tests. Which doesn't look good for me because I am a very slow reader and tend to mess things up and have to re-read them.
Has anyone here applied to take the tests with accommodations? If so, how hard was it? Did you need to run around gathering documents, or were documents from the school enough? Do you have to find a special testing center to go to in order to get accommodations (such as extra time)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have not never taken a standardized test but would love to. Maybe someday soon before I start working here in the UK.
Anyway, I think I have some simple but useful tips for you. When you go to the reading comprehension part if there is any, you must read the questions first before going to the selection. That way, you already know which information to look up to.
I remember I took a TELF test before but it was a short one and I almost run out of time. I read the selection, went to the question and read the selection again to find the answer. Takes lots of time.

I never have time to read the selections on the types of standardized tests you're talking about. Usually I go straight the questions and try to choose the best answer without ever going through the passage. If it's unclear, I'll try to skim the passage if there's time. But usually, reading the passages wastes time on these tests. But that's more for tests like the SAT. The only reason I did good on that was because I filled in every bubble and even though I didn't get through everything, apparently I picked some right answers in my insane quest to just put down anything. But I don't want to have to count on luck for the tests I have to take next, as they are far more important than the SAT.

Oh, I'm very sorry I didn't read your discussion carefully before giving my response.
Well, I have never taken those test you mentioned and when I looked them up I found out they don't have reading comprehension 
Anyway, just want to wish you all the best on your exam. And don't worry I know you can do it. Analysing your story I can say that you're one intelligent person.
