How do I get that beautiful blue star with ten in it?

I must say I am envious of those who have that beautiful blue star. For one thing, it is my favorite color, and I am stuck with red, which I am not that fond of. And certainly, ten is more than nine. But try as I might, I don't seem to get that beautiful blue star. What might be the reasons for this?

The token answer is post more "quality" responses and discussions. However, that barely works. What's really supposed to happen is that you don't post anything controversial and you post nothing but simple discussions. Don't believe me, you can look at my discussions and best responses. You can also go find people with lower star ratings and see what they are doing (there are several that have done nothing wrong, and a few that are better than most members in terms of discussions and responses). You experienced a drop in star rating due to people hitting negative, perhaps one or two times, but not many. It can happen due to discussions or because someone just feels like hitting the - button.

Hi programer, I bet you are right! So it is a sort of lucky star? If people like what you have written you get a brighter star. If they don't like it, even if it is sensible, they can mark you negative and down goes the rating. A bit unfair isn't it?

VERY unfair. Again, I say look at some people and their efforts. On just needs to compare some 9 and 10 stars to those with 7, 6, 5, 4.... and on and on.

well you just post sensible replies and topics to discuss, and then the other mylot members will rate you, just like what the others have said, although if you ask me, i would prefer a green colored star, eventhough its only "5" coz my favorite color is green, LOL how i wish the "10" star is colored green, maybe it would motivate me more, hehe.

yeah, maybe coz blue is associated with royalty, but maybe also because the majority of people like the color blue. i wonder what color are the 1 and 2 star ratings are. i havent seen a mylot member before with that rating. anyway, about the cat, LOL its not my cat, i just saved this photo coz i found it cute, i saw it in one of the comments on a social networking site, hehe. you can see which webite it was taken from, it has pyzam.com on it.

LOL, thanks for your cheerful response! I guess they have given the blue color to the top star coz it is associated with aristocracy, the "blue blood" you see. :) by the way, is that a cat in your avatar? What sort of head-dress is it wearing? Looks like a watermelon peel! Cheers and happy mylotting!

I honestly don't know. I still haven't figured the star part out yet. All I know about it is that it's suppose to have something to do with rating, I think. I'm not quite sure how I got mine, to be honest, but am very thankful that I have it. You will get yours as well!

I am curious about the star system too and reading through this discussion I still have no clue about how it works. I do know that people rate you and that your ranking (the number on the star) changes as you get positive and negative ratings. I have had a red star and now it has turned yellow. I wonder if it has something to do with the number of posts you have made?

I don't think it is the number of posts, though the more the number of posts you make, the more people can rate you. I think it is your popularity level and the quality of your posts. However, if your post is sensible and people still don't like it, they can rate you negative, can't they? And then the star rate will go down. :(

Hi positivemind. I am happy with my nine right now. I still dont know and figure about the rating system yet. Maybe if people rate you positive your rating will be up. Just try to make quality topics and discussion. be positive. :D

Well for getting the blue star with ten, there is lot of work involved and you have to focus on your response's quality and quantity very much. You also have to maintain positive outlook in every reponse you give and the response you give should be helpful to the one you give. You also have to start some discussions daily and get positive results on the discussions. So there's lot of work involved to get the 10 star.
