You have got to be kidding me. It is April 29th and my hubby and I have finished putting in our vegetable garden just these past 2 weekends. Yes, I know it is a little early, but we usually are late. I also planted many flowers around the fences and the rest of the yard. And now the weather channel is telling us that we are getting Frost over night. We just got back in from covering all of our cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, broccoli, cucumbers, squashes, beans and tomatoes with plastic. We had to take the plastic off the outside of our windows to have enough to cover all the plants. Hopefully the frost won't hurt the seeded items that are just beginning to pop through. We have corn trying to push threw the soil and radish and carrots are showing their first leaves. I just can't believe frost so late in the year. I know I shouldn't complain too much as my sister in Wisconsin got 4 inches of snow just the other day.

We're looking at frost tomorrow night, too, but that's typical of Colorado (at least this part of it). I planted broccoli today, so I'll have to cover them. Lettuce is in the baby stage, so that will have to be covered, too. Beets and radishes are the only other things that are up and they should be all right. This time of year, there shouldn't be a hard frost, so most things will be OK, I'd think.

I am surprised you are only getting a frost. I would think in Colorado you might be getting snow. LOL. Our plants did survive the frost but I may leave them covered for another night. I just can't wait until we can eat what we are growing.

It doesn't always snow in Colorado... but there's a chance of it tonight and tomorrow. It's 79 degrees here right now.

We just got a cold snap too. We had several days with 70s and even 80 during the day and mid 50s or better at night, so I've been wanting to put my few seedlings in on the side of the house and the rest of the containers outside too. My husband suggested I wait and I'm glad I listed to him. It's been cold and damp the last two nights, in the low 30s. I've still got them all in my living room, even the big tub that I just put several of the plants in. It looks like a greenhouse in my little 600sf house today.

Sounds like the weather we are having here too. I have quite a bit of the flowers on my kitchen table too. I would wait before you plant too. It will be chilly for the next few nights here as well. I guess I was just pushing the season a little. They say not to plant until after the 5th of May. :)
