Is it just a guy thing?

Is putting your arm out the window when driving a guy thing? I do it all of the time. I see other guys doing it too. But rarely do I see a girl do it. Why is that?

Well I am a girl and I do this. Although I don't think that counts for too much. I grew up around a lot of guys. You're right, though, I never see too many girls doing it. Maybe it is just a guy thing and I need to nip this habit in the bud right now.

good morning djfroki, yup my husband has one brown arm and one white one!~i do not put my arm out the window because it is holding the steering wheel while the other arm is reached around back swatting the kids!

I don't drive (as I don't want to) but my fiance does and he never puts his arm out the window. I met him when it was still warm outside, last year, and never saw him do it.I have a friend that is a girl that will do it though.. and I do see why people do it. I guess it could just be a guy thing as I have seen more guys do it then girls, but that doesn't mean you should stop doing it. It's just a comfort thing.

I'm a girl and I do it too. I find it comfortable, not so much when I'm actually driving as my arm is too short, but when I'm waiting at lights and in traffic I always have my elbow out.

dj i do believe its just an instinct for everybody else to have his left arm or right feel at ease. For the right handed individuals, we use the left to balance things. When you drive its your right that's always bz. Its your left arm that compensate the strain your right goes through.. a simple idea from Philippines. Peace
