Biting Cat

what can I do to keep our cat from biting? He is about 8 months old and we have had him since he was 6 weeks old. He is a beautiful cat but we can't do anything with him or pet him as he is always biting us. He will attack your leg as you walk by him or your feet and just bite you. He bit my daughters foot tonight as she was getting onto her bunk bed. I don't want to get rid of him but if I don't find an answer soon I may have too.

Well, he's still a kitten. Playing with him is a good idea, but overpetting or teasing or rough housing with him isn't. You should also consider taking him to a good vet, who can perhaps give him a tranquilizer. Since your cat is so young, you may also wish to consider waiting a bit. Cats tend to mellow out as they age. Then again, that might be the way the cat is. My sister raised her now-deceased cat, Pepe, ever since he was a tiny baby and he grew up to become obnoxious anyway. He growled and bit and scratched constantly, yet my sister never gave him up. She accepted him the way he was and loved him anyway.

I think that the cat is just going to be mean as he is older now and still is mean. I guess we will just have to deal with him the way he is.

Sounds like he is just an aggressive male who wants to play. They learn to stalk by active playing attack with each other, and that is what he is doing with you all. you are his pride, and he is practicing on you. Get a spray bottle of water and give him a squirt every time he acts up like that. he will soon learn that your bodies are not what he needs to be stalking.... LMAO bless his heart.

I have tried the water bottle and spraying him but it doesn't work. He will continually do the same thing.
