Top 10 interview mistakes

There are various things that you should and shouldnt do when at an interview. Two obvious no-nos are turning up late or insulting your prospective boss should be avoided when goign for a job interview. A few things that may not help you get the job!! Honesty may be the best policy but there are time when you shouldnt be hoonest such as wwhen asked why you want to work for the company, you shouldnt reply "Because I fancy the girl who works in reception." Remain professional at all times, dont be determined to stand out from your competitor. There are times when you maybe asked to demonstrate the skills and this means the skills you will need for the job not to perform magic tricks for the interviewer. Know the job that you are applying for. The phrase "in the wrong place at the wrong time" can prove the meaning when someone showed up to the wrong interview, he also went to the wrong company. Be careful how you suppress your homicidal tendencies. One woman unnervingly, gave her interviewer the impression that she had murdered her husband. Avoid distraction. There are simply no excuses for having your mobile phone switched on during an interview. It doesnt look very good when you are checking your phone at every given opportunity. Be enthusiactic. Wanting to see how the applicant saw his career ambitions, the interviewer asked the candidate where he saw himself in the next five years. The candidate replied: "I don't have any particular ambitions for advancement, as long as I am paid a lot more." Misplaced loyalty When applying for a weekend job, one candidate informed their prospective new employer that he would not be able to come to work when his football team was playing at home. Remember customer service and with a smile. When a interviewer asked how a candidate would handle a disgruntled customer, the candidate replied that he would wrestle the client to the ground rather than attempt to diffuse the situation in a diplomatic way. Be careful who you askand when if you are looking for love. One candidate decided to take matters further, however, and asked their interviewer out on a date. Whats your worst/best story about getting job interviews??

Gosh, that must have been embarrassing!! Did you get the job in the end?? Its annoying when you cant find the words to express yourself, even more so when in an interview!!

I guess I made my best part ever when I was on my way to my interview and when I'm being interviewed. Probably that's why I passed hehehe.. I'm a fresh graduate and I had my first interview two weeks ago. It was tenseful but I composed myself because I want and need the job.

All these are very helpful... Thank you... My best interview story has to be for the job I have now... I've been selling appliances for living for quite some time now & I worked for a cell. phone company briefly... I won't get into why I got out of my previous jobs but when they called me for current one, I recognized the interviewer... Turns out that I sold her a full kitchen set, gas range, over the range microwave, fridge & dish-washer... I walked in, she says hi, I don't think she recognized me, I said hi... Her face looked really familiar & she started the interview with a comment, "So, I see that you are looking for an employment with us..." When she was about to say something else, I said, "I'm sorry... Before we start, can I ask you a question?" She looked at me bit oddly & says, "ok"... I said, "I just have to ask, did you remodel your kitchen about 8 month ago?" She said, "Yes, How did you know?" "Did you buy your appliances at ****?" She said, "Yes?" I said, "I thought so... I remember you... I'm the one who sold it to you, remember?" She looked at me for few seconds, all of sudden, her eyes gets big & goes, "Oh, yeah... I remember you... I thought your name looked familiar when I came across your resume... How're you doing?" So I said, "I'm ok... How's your appliances working out?" She started laughing... Then she says, "looking to change a scene, huh?" I said, "Yeah... They royally screwed me over..." She says, "When can you start?" "Tomorrow" "Ok, we'll see you tomorrow..." So my interview lasted all of about 6 - 7 minutes & we haven't even talked about work at all...
