what is ABACUS ?

An abacus, also called a counting frame, is a calculating tool for performing arithmetic processes. The only thing that I know people would call an Abacus, is a counting thing. You might have like rows of like blocks. You would have like 10 rows with numbers 1-10 on them. Then you would use them for counting, instead of using a Calculator, your hands, or other means you might think of. Not sure if this is what he is refering to, but these are some of my thoughts.

im not really sure but i guess thats the one the chinese been using for adding and subtraction or even division..whatever..synonyms with calculator..but i dont know for sure that it will cause or a source of intelligence of children..
