Hey Mare,
No, you can't shave with it. It is just for the bottoms of your feet.
You should try it. It's not very expensive and it really works! For me anyway.

I have one and I absolutely HATE it. It does not work like the commercial shows. The shavings do not end up in the egg most of them end up on your pants. A regular foot file will do what that piece of junk will. I used mine once and now it sits in a cupboard. I hate as seen on tv stuff it never works like the commercials say.

What position was your foot in though? Mine collected all the shavings and did an amazing job BUT I noticed that when I switched the position of my foot and had the PegEgg with the grate facing DOWN (and the collection cup above the grate if that makes sense) it didnt collect them BUT its no wonder ya know..how could it..

I have one! It was one of my Christmas presents. I love it too! It is true that most of the shavings end up on your legs or pants, but it cleans up easily enough.
I do a lot of aerobics and that causes my feet to get rough, etc. PedEgg makes my feet soft and I have tried lots of other things for this and none have worked nearly as well as this product.

No believe it or not for fast ped care I just use a dremel rotary tool with a fine sand grinding wheel on it. It can heat up sometimes but you will normally find an easier faster way to do something and stick with it until you either cannot use it anymore or something really better comes along. I will stick with what I got I think. But thanks for the advice, you may actually be right, since I have never used one, but I will stick with my quick and easy power tool.
