Our favorite place to camp is the Indian Hills Campground at mark Twin Lake in central Missouri. It is very well kept and the rangers make sure that no one gets out of control.
It's a beautiful area and not commercialized like the Lake of the Ozarks and other more populated areas.

Our favorite campground is in Central PA, it's a small campground nestled in the woods and mountainside. It's relaxing, and not real busy. We will be headed over there for Memorial Day weekend, my daughter and her husband are joining us there this year.

That does sound like a nice place. I'm a firm believer that every child needs to place less video games and do more camping!

Oh I'm so glad you posted this and I hope you get a lot of responses to it. We are full time RVers but we are new to the traveling. I have been thinking about posting something like this myself to get some opinions on places we should visit.
I can tell you about a beautiful little campground in Oklahoma that is small and quiet and out of the way. It is in the valley between two mountain ranges in the middle of a national forest. The energy is amazing and the people are wonderful. If you are looking for a quiet, scenic, refreshing place to visit then I know where it is. It's called Big Cedar RV and Cabins and they are in Big Cedar Oklahoma.

We're "camperless" at the moment but hope to purchase another one in the near future and get back to camping. We're noticing that there are a lot for sale, undoubtedly, due to the high fuel prices.
