Well being in a strange mood and not really being able to do anything about it I decided on some garden work and discussions here. I have a lot of ferns growing in my yard. I have no idea what type they are but will add a nice shot of a few later. This is 4 of them just starting to pop up that I dug up. Anyhow we are going to my daughters for Mothers Day and figured as I dug these up to make way for a garden plot I'd save them for my daughter. Now hopefully she doesn't kill these. Hahahaha!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

What a nice Mother's Day gift for your daughter. I hope she appreciates them. I really enjoy working in the yard myself, so if she's anything like me, she'll just simply love them. Have a great day!!!

That sure is nice of you to dig them up for your daughter and I suppose since it's mother's day that you will plant them for her as well! You and your daughter have been really busy posting discussions, and I can't seem to catch up with all of them, but doing my best!

I got some ferns today too, from my neighbor..That is wonderful you are giving some to your daughter and usually with ferns, once planted they do pretty well, so I wouldn't worry about her killing them..

For some reason whenever I've tried to grow ferns, it turns out a failure.. Maybe it's the high acid soil.. I'm going to try again one of these days soon, as I love ferns! I'm going to try a completely different area though!

That is a sweet thought. I'm sure she will love them and try not to kill them. I know I love getting plants as gifts. My mom gave me some pretty lillies a few years ago and I love them. Especially when they bloom and have pretty flowers coming out of them.

It is good that you are giving her flowers. After all, you were cranky yesterday. That is not good for her while she is pregnant with YOUR grandchild mister. Make sure that you say that you are sorry too, LOL.

Hope Mother's day was nice up there, Grandpa Bob. It rained most of the day here today so nothing got done outside. I had planned to plant my garden if it didn't rain being we worked on it last night with the hoe and garden rake getting all the weeds/grass out of it that popped up already. My taters are doing great. Most of them are already a foot tall and very healthy. Hope Minnie doesn't kill the ferns either. I'm sure if you planted them for her and she remembers to water them, they will survive.

They look like fiddlehead ferns. We have lots of them out here too. When they're tightly rolled up like that and just emerging from the ground, they are very tasty when steamed and eaten with butter and salt. They kinda taste like asparagus.
