This past Sunday, May 4th, was a decent day weatherwise here in Minnesota. My wife and I decided to BBQ for the first time this year. I checked the grill and the tank had propane in it and it started right away so we were ready. We had Brats and baked beans cooked on the grill with some scalloped taters made in the oven. Then we had some apple pie for desert as well. I can't wait till the really nice weather arrives so I can BBQ a few times a week. it just hasn't been really warm enouigh to sit outside at the grill. I can't wait for some of our home grown corn roasted on the grill later this summer/fall. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I envy you Grandpa Bob, I wish I had a back yard so I could grill too. Living in an apartment building in a big city has it's disadvantages. If I can get down to see my brother once a year in FL then I'll get to a BBQ otherwise I am out of luck. Hmmmmm a burger and a crispy hot dog sounds really good right about now!

Don't you have an area of grass or even the driveway for a grill? When we lived in apartments we grilled on the blacktop driveway. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We have no driveways, no grass where I live, here is a pic of the street. Oh well, so much for the BBQ. LOL

Tabletop grills are found in most stores, howard. Maybe you could get one of those and just bbq on your front steps or something? With one of those, you could even go to the nearest park for a picnic.

We love bbqs too. I am not sure what brats are? Scalloped potatoes would be great. Corn too. We usually either do a roast on our bbq, or grilled chops, steak, sausages, etc. We can have bbqs almost all year round. Our autumn weather has been wonderful lately, beautiful clear sunny skies.

what are brats? I have a barbeque and we have never used it yet. We had it for going on three years now. My son is afraid of setting it up.

Nothing tastes better than grillin'!!!!! I'm so sad... my 'grill' is one that my folks gave me. It's more like a backyard version of the Foreman grill, with a cooler under it. It's nice for camping and such but not really a true "grill" for in the yard. I won't complain though... it's very nice to have. I should just be thankful!!! LOL

Gosh you are making me droll, am I invited to you next BBQ lol. Its a long way from the UK but I could move in and come home after the nice weather has finished and the BBQ are over lol. I love cooking out side and eating in the sun with family and friends but we cant garante on many hot days. You plan to have friends round and it rains or it is blowy and your food is ruined. Then you end up inside to eat boring!

Summertime food does sound good. You and your grill reminds me of a funny story about me and a grill. I was at my moms, she wanted me to light her grill. I had never done it before. I had a plate of hot dogs to put on the grill. They were sitting on the closed lid. I turned the gas on, lite the match, tried to light the grill. It didn't work. I did this several times. One more time and all of a sudden, the gas caught. Whoosh, the lid flew up, I jumped back (scared the daylights out of me) Hot dogs went flying. It wasn't funny at the time but it is now. I hope this brings a smile to your mug and brightens up your day some.

I love to grill out, although my husband is the one that does all the grilling. I may see about getting him to grill something this Sunday. Maybe some pork chops or something like that. Great, now I am hungry. lol

That sounds like such a yummy meal! And BBQ's are so much fun especially when the weather is nice. We had a rather unpleasant surprise in our BBQ last week when we were going to BBQ some chicken. Opened up the lid and there was a gross rat in there. So needless to say we did not used the BBQ. In fact I want to throw it away and never touch it again but I suppose that's going to far! :-)

Oh I love when my husband cooks on the grill. We cooked out about 3 times this year so far. Last Sunday was a beautiful day in the 80's. We had cheeseburgers, baked potatoes and baked beans. I am looking forward to having corn too.

Oh gosh, can I come over? It's been ages since I've been to a BBQ and can't really have one here in an apt building. Yikes talk about weather though...what kind of crazy weather are we having here? A few days ago it was 80 degrees...today? In the 40s, cold, and rainy..hey your not sending that cold Minnesota weather our way are you?

Hi GRANDPA BOB! That would be very nice! I love having BBQs but then it is too hot here to sit outside at the grill. But I sure would like to have one soon probably during the early evenings. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

lol My mouth was watering last night while we were preparing the garden for planting just thinking of the corn on the grill later on. Going to plant 3 rows this year being last year they grew so well for the first time planting it. Heck, I may even plant more rows somewhere else. I spot all their own separate from the garden so we can have more corn on the cob.

I love BBQ it is so yummy. This past Sunday which was mothers day we threw some steaks on the pit and they were so good. We also had corn on the cob which was very sweet, baked potatoes, cookies and watermelon. It was pretty hot here in New Orleans but not so hot that you feel like your going to pass out just by breathing. It was a really nice day and I enjoyed it very much. Happy mothers day to all you mothers out there.

I have cooked out on the grill twice so far. I bought some country style pork ribs the other day that I want to cook out on the grill. I am not sure if I am going to do them tonight or tomorrow night. They seem to be calling my name and I do need to keep the stove available for the toffee I have to make for the winery, so it will probably be tonight. I have some corn on the cob I could throw on too.
