Remember how as a teenager or young adult you were most probably out with your friends on a Friday night? There were sleep overs and parties and what not. When you started working you might have gone out with friends after work for dinner and drinks afterward, or go out with your boyfriend. As you began a family school was out and you might have taken in a dinner and a movie on Friday night. I did all those things, including going to Synagogue on a Friday night more recently as my boyfriend is Jewish. But we don't even do much of that anymore, he is just so tired after working he prefers to go home and relax. I am just sitting her and wondering when did I get old for 35 years from 14 - 50, I never was home on a Friday night now look at me, 53 and home and enjoying it? What about you, were you one to go out on a Friday night and do you still do it? What kinds of things do you do on a Friday night?

I must have been born an old soul then because I never went out on Friday nights as a kid, teenager, or an adult. I guess I am what they call a homebody. On a Friday it just all depends on what I am feeling like, watching television, crocheting, cooking, reading, checking emails, posting to discussions or just talking on the phone or through I.M. on yahoo. I was never one to go to the dances or proms or anything like that not even in groups.

Well were just to homebodies then. Even my sign(zodiac) says I like to stay close to home and it is true. I only get out like once or twice a month to go to town for groceries or to get something. Do you happen to be a Cancer sign or Pisces?

when I was a single parent I didn't want to face it, so I got out as much as I could. Now you can't drag me out of the house lol

I'm 31, and I stay home on Friday nights, mainly because I have 2 young children and a husband that works nights. My husband and I don't go out by ourselves because no babysitter, and we are trying to get out of debt, so we can enjoy retirement, when our kids are older. I really didn't go out on Friday night, when I was in school, saw it as a waste of money. I did go out once I moved away from home. That all stopped once I had my kids.

but even hanging out at a friend's house was going out for me. It just meant getting out of the house, my house.

I lived in a small town, so hanging out at a friend's house took some planning. We lived out in the country, where you had to hop in a car and drive a distance to your friend's house. I actually enjoyed sitting in my room and reading a good book.

No. I never went out on Friday nights, even when I was a teenager.Friday nights meant Dukes of Hazard, Dallas, and Falcon Crest. I never thought of going out.if I did go out ,it was on Saturday night. One of the best parties I went to was on a Saturday night.

well Saturday night is also good, of course, either way if you get out on the weekend and you are having fun that is all that counts.

Shoot. I hardly ever got to go anywhere. I did not care what day of the week it was back then LOL, if mom ever said I could go somewhere. I am so glad to be home every night here though, now. I am 37 years old later this month. I lovr my home and I enjoy working from home also. I do not miss not getting to go places. I am so happy to spend my time with my husband and my daughter and when I am working, I anjoy my friends online. We try and buy things that we can enjoy here at home so we do not have to go out and spend money and alot on gas and other things.

I was always out on a Friday night, I couldn't imagine being at home.. I wasn't one of the "popular" girls but I did have a boyfriend and you just didn't stay home on a Friday night.. Now that I am 60 yrs old, I don't even like to go to the grocery store on Friday night.. Now if we are out on a Friday or Saturday night, we are usually at a little neighborhood store drinking coffee and visiting with the other regulars.. It is usually so boring it doesn't qualify for fun..

Do you know I went out on Friday nights. time, was a party pooper with my friends, just for a time and we lived it up, dancing and all the thing youngsters would do when they hung out. Then some of them relocated and our lives were transformed. Now those things dont even phase me any longer. Everything last but only for a season. I had my time of fun in the sun. I am just satified with the way I am. I stay home get on the computer when I feel like/read or I do whatever interest me.

well, i'm not a party or night person since i am a teenager... i always prefer to stay at home and do my stuffs at home quietly rather than going out and hanging around with my friends... even until now, i still do that... i still prefer to stay at home with my hubby and spend time together with him watching TV, reading or surfing the internet like what i am doing now... i am just tired after working and just want to stay home and relax... and i never think that i am getting old anyway... :-)

I have watched television on Friday Night for a long time. This is when Monk airs, so I'm ready with food to watch. My husband is watching his television and sci-fi is on it all night. If we go out, its for lunch on Fridays. The bill is a lot cheaper and we usually use a coupon.

Oh yes I used to be a party animal right through the weekends really, but becoming a mum and having responsibilites alters your social life too so even up to a few years ago would socialise with friends indoors on a Friday night instead of going out but the last few years (with the exception of this month as numerous social events booked) on a friday night I am that tired from the week I tend to relax indoors and have an earlier night and thats at the tender age of 45. My son is only 4 and wears me out physcially. Also to be quite honest it is just far too expensive to go out these days and I think more people do in fact stay home eh! Ellie :D

oh but going out could mean just hanging out with your friends at their apartment, but with a four year old I see how it would be difficult.

I was out every Friday without fail, and Saturday come to think of it before I had my second child, I loved it, loved just letting my hair down after a long week at work, chilling out with my friends. I did not have much money but I always managed to have a drink in my hand all night. Must have been the way I batted my eyes or something!! Such fun, where have those days gone, well simple really, I swapped them for having another 3 children!! Now I simply have no inclination to go out anymore, I am too tired once the kids are in bed to think of anything beyond sitting and relaxing!!

I used to work the dances at a single parent association either on a Friday or Saturday night, and someone always paid me a drink, but I never really was a big drinker though.

I used to go out clubbing practically every friday and/or saturday night before meeting my hubby..since i met him, i've only gone to a club once or twice and i don't miss it at all! I'm glad to be over the club scene finally and be where im at right now...happily married, with a gorgeous baby boy, healthy and well surrounded by my family and friends. Now on friday nights, or any other night, we either watch a movie together, or im on the pc and he's playing his video games, or i go to bed early and he watches tv...anything like that is fine by us. Or, occasionally, we'll have friends or his brothers over for coffee and chit chat.

Nope even as a younger person I was never much for going out and hanging out with friends on a Friday night. Being the classic nerdy geek in school I was always doing school projects..in college since I was part of the Scenic Design crew practically lived on campus (was a non campus type college ...no dorms) designing sets, painting sets, etc....or if I was in a play production myself was probably at rehearsals. Also, my mother made it less fun for me when I did go out with friends being that she was so overbearingly overprotective that if I did go out with friends had to "report" in every hour on the hour to let her know I was all right...so after awhile just stopped "hanging out" with friends--even my friends thought my mother was too strick

yes your mom was a bit much, I never did that with my son, he had a curfew and he had to respect it, and if for some reason he couldn't he had to call me immediately to let me know why.

That doesn't make you old mom, I'm 30 and I've been staying home on friday nights 9heck, all weekend) for years already. I did all my partying when I was under 18 because it was the adreniline (sp) rush of possibly getting caught being underage at a club. Once I turned 18 the rush of clubbing got boring all of a sudden. Since my 18th birthday I now only go ot when its my birthday, (or the birthday of someone I know), or when its a special occasion. Other than that, I'm home, usually by myself, chillen online, or watching movies or reading a book.
