It's just not the same as I remembered it.

Yesterday I had a bowl of soup- a kind that I used to Love. I ate it all the time. I haven't had it in at least 10 years. The other day I bought some, thinking I would still love it, but it just wasn't the same. What a disappointment. Has this ever happened to you? Do you think the product changed, or did you change?

I have had this happen to me before. I am not sure which it is. I know a lot of products change slightly over the years, so it could be that the small changes over time added up to the item tasting totally different from what you remember. I also know that things you like to eat change over time, so that could be it too.

I have noticed this with things also. I thought maybe it was me but I can now say it isn't. LOL Naturally, right now I can't think of a product, off the top of my head. Figures.
I honestly believe our taste buds change over time.

I think it is a bit of both. We change over time and it is only natural to think products change as well.
I think also what happens is that our memory plays tricks on us. Over time our memory changes our perception of what we tasted. I guess it grows and evolves as we do.
