I'm interested in learning about this too, Molly. I will check back on this discussion. I have no first hand experience to share with you, but I have looked through some pretty good books on the topic. I have also picked up a good pamphlet on the subject at my local Wholefoods Market.

Well, I don't think anyone is interested in this discussion so we might not get our answers, makingpots!

The first thing to do is decide what kinds of seeds you wish to sprout, then purchase them :) I have been sprouting in a plastic sprouting container from www.gardensalive.com it is okay but the slats allow the smaller seeds to fall through. I recently purchased a hemp bag which I will hang over my sink and use as a sprouting bag. ---- soak your seeds in water over night - this will swell them and get them started... rinse these seeds once or twice each day to prevent fungus and mold from developing. place your swelled seeds into your hemp bag or you can use a mason jar with cheese cloth or muslin covering (secured with rubber band) either set in sunshine or in dark depending on if you want white or green sprouts... rinse a couple of times a day and you should have nice crunchy sprouts to eat in a few days.

I'm here to the rescue ladies! Buy a pack of sprout seeds from the store (most have instructions on them). Wash thoroughly then soak in a covered dish for 24 hours. The water will become cloudy, so rinse again till clear. Do this for 1-3 days, twice a day (times may vary depending on what kinds of seeds you are using). Put a few layers of kleenex into a container and soak with water. Spread your seeds on the kleenex - that's it!. Put a lid on the container, or at least some clingfilm, to stop the sprouts from drying out, and the container needs to be in part sunlight. Now watch them grow! Hope this helps!
