My mom will be here on the 23rd!!!! ::):):):)
I really wasn't sure if she would actually do it. She said yes to my daughter but then when I talked to her again she was like "Oh... it's so far.... I'll miss my gym classes for so long.... I will have to take care of so many things before going.... etc. etc" So I was thinking to myself that she probably wouldn't be coming. But we talked yesterday and I went to the airline site while we were on the phone and told him the dates and prices and that we had to reserve now or the prices would be higher later and she promised she would go there today.
She did go, but apparently they gave her a higher price than what we saw online so we did everything through here while we were on the phone - again LOL - and... she's coming on the 23rd!
And she will be here until the end of October. We hope er might do two things during that time. The first get in touch with our MP and plead our case - she's my adoptive mother but not legally and I don't want to bring my birthparents here, I need however to bring her. Maybe something can be done. And if it can, than we need to convince her to stay LOL
Or maybe the other way around,not sure how it will be better to tackle this.
In any case, the day turned out really well.
So... how was your Monday? Had any good news today?

OOOH I am so excited for you must be so happy/excited. I have been in living in the states for nearly four years now and haven't seen my mother in the UK in that time so know what it is like to be apart. How long is it since you last saw her?
And as for my Monday well I bought two tadpoles for the pond lol!

I"m in the clouds right now. The last time I saw my mom was almost 10 years ago. We do talk over the phone several times a week, and while my daughter was there for a full year we would talk on the msn each day and I would see her on the web cam but, of course, it was not the same thing .
It is very hard to be so far away and specially since my mom is almost 86 years old and I would really prefer to have her here with me.. but we'll see :)
Tadpoles? They will turn into beautiful frogies at some point.. that counts as something cute and nice for the day :):):):)

Arkaf, that is fantastic news indeed, I know you are so excited,I would be. I am sure that you will work something out. Just do not set your expectations to high, she probably will get very home sick after some time. But all in all its wonderful news.

Hello dear. I'm so, so happy for you and this piece of good news. By the way, I'm sorry but I don't really know the story to this, on why she's coming and all that. Perhaps you can enlighten me on it for a bit, thanks a lot..
WOW!! Your mom is 86 years of age and she still is as strong as ever. I wish her continuing good health and may she always be happy, with the rest of your family members. Until October she is staying with you? I must say that's a pretty good time for you guys to catch up with one another. For loss times' sake.

How exciting!!! I will pray that they allow you to let her stay with you...I miss seeing your discussions and responding to them...today I had to dig to find a discussion from any of my friends...it's weird.... only 2 people's discussions are sent to me and when I search for my friends discussions, it says there are none...:(
So to find your discussion made my day..and then to see it was such a wonderful one made me even happier!!!
Hope to hear how well it is going..I'll seek out your discussions to keep posted!!!
