Why do you think the super delegates and well known figures like Edwards are endorsing Obama now? Unless there's something I'm missing, I would think they would be better to hold out longer...continue the suspense, what there is of it left.

We have roman politics, and I find it a bit strange.. like a weird popularity contest.. We should have all state primaries at once and quit all the posturing and contorting..

I guess they are trying to tell Clinton to get out. They think her continuing on in the race is hurting the party and putting them at a disadvantage in Nov. Sounds a little like jumping ship to me, especially those who were Clinton backers who are now supporting Obama. Maybe they dont want a floor fight at the convention? I however agree with the comparison to a football game. Just cause one team is down by two td's in the third quarter does not mean they should leave the game.

This whole campaign has me bewildered. No one seems to be paying much attention to the important issues. We have a battle going with voters looking at one of the candidates skin color and the others gender. I am disgusted by and bored with the whole deal.

Because after Obama had his head handed to him in West Virginia, the democrat bosses are trying to shove Obama down the throats of the democrats. Obama does not have the support of the older and working class people... he has the college kids, blacks, and younger workers, but the democrats as a whole are not as supportive of Obama as the democrat leadership wants everyone to think. The ONLY reason that Obama is even in the race as a 1st term senator with no experience is because of his race. If he was white, Hillary would have been the unquestioned democrat nominee.

I think Edwards' timing for his endorsement may have had something to do with stealing Hillary's imagined "thunder" after winning so big in West Virginia. I think the fact that more voters in WV than anywhere else admitted race had a lot to do with their vote, which means there were far more that weren't willing to admit to their bigotry, takes a great deal away from that vote being any kind of an example of the nation as a whole. I think it could be that Edwards, being from the south, may have decided enough is enough already! I think he waited as long as he did because he didn't want to be a "spoiler" but unlike most endorsements I think his may have some clout with those that strongly supported him before he left the race. The other Super Delegates are kind of trickling in with their announcements so I don't think there's any one reason they've come out now or at any other time. Some have gotten pressure from their constituents, some have probably simply come to a decision and chose to go public right away for whatever reason. Annie

For me the reason is they are scared that Hillary will hurt their chances of winning the election in November or that something else will come up about Obama and put a black mark on his electibility. In other words there is a "lot of politicking" going on right now. I am sure they are hoping that the more endorsements that Obama gets the less money Hillary will be able to collect and she will drop out of the race. I think she should stay in until the end. I hope Obama is smart enough to realize that without her on the ticket he doesn't stand a chance of wining in November...
