The best way of course is to use as little as possible. And I am finding ways to do just that.I live in a small town, and I have succeded in finding work so close that I can walk, four nights a week.Other than that, I only use my car three times a week now,and I get everything I can out of the trip. All three of those trips involve making money cleaning.I also sell avon, and I target several customers in one place. And the areas I target are not out of the way at all. Then I also get any groceries or errands done in those trips.Even if I end up with a full day, time is cheaper than gas right now.It took some getting used to but I've figured out that in the long run you are better off doing alot while you are out,so you will not have to go out everyday, and then you do end up with more free time.
