http://news.uk.msn.com/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=8284121 Jason Cull has survived a attack by a Great White shark by poking the five-metre long carnivore in the eye. The 37 year old said: "Initially I thought it was a dolphin. I just remember being dragged along backwards. I was trying to feel its gills but I found its eye and I stuck my finger in and that's when it let go." The shark did tear two chunks from Jason's leg as he swam off a beach on the southwest coat of Australia. Jason was rescued by a local surf lifesaver who heard him screaming. Australia had 12 shark attacks in 2007, none of them fatal, among 71 shark attacks worldwide that year.

You see this is why I will not go in the sea!! I would have been absolutely terrified, but I have heard stories before where the person managed to poke a shark in the eye. He is so lucky that he is alive to tell the tale, I would just rather paddle right at the very edge. Mind you, even then I do not like the thought of jelly fish.

Thats amazing. I would be unable to move. Sharks and snakes are the two "animals" that just render me useless. I am so unbelievably scared of both of them its ridiculous. This however is one of the coolest stories I've seen in a while. If only the people in Jaws had known this...

From reading the link, he thought it was a dolphin and tried to feel for its gill but ended up poking it in the eye!! It could have ended much worse!! Hearing stories like this puts me off wanting to visit Australia along with all the snakes and 'wildlife' they have!!
