Okay all. I am sitting here bored out of my friggin mind. I am in the process of getting broadband hooked up today.(Thursday) They said it would be available no later than 5 p.m. That's 4 and a half hours from now. I am so dang impatient that I actually went to the UPS web site to verify if the modem is sent out yet a little while ago. it is sent on the truck today so I will have it. I am anxious as hell for the high speed service finally after 18 years. My question now for this discussion..... Have you ever been VERY, VERY, impatient or anxious for something that time seemed to almost come to a stand still? Gotta go now and wait for UPS. Take care all and have a great day/evening. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM ANXIOUS & IMPATIENT GRANDPA BOB !!~

You'll make it. Just hang on. Consider how slow your connection has been. After the hook up it WILL be quicker! It will be worth the wait. Yes I have been lacking in patience in the past. We now live in the quick fix society. It becomes habit. When my child needed medical tests I wanted someone to tell me what the problem was right then! AND fix it!! Stand still are you kidding? I paced and paced til I am sure I made a path in the concrete.

Dear "Anxious and Impatient" - You will be very happy with your new connection.. I probably have been so anxious and impatient, but nothing is coming to mind.. likely because I have such a very poor memory! I hope your modem actually arrives quite early so you can quit being anxious and impatient, and I also hope it is all clear sailing with no computer or computer related glitches! So it can be Happy Postings from Grandpa Bob with no problems whatsoever..

That's good! That you're happy.. (and no big glitches to deal with!) not that something's ringing.. curious what it is.. I wouldn't know if bells and whistles were all going off simultaneously, as I always turn the volume off! Who knows what could be going on as I happily type on! But of course that's my motto, just ignore it and it'll go away! Happy mylotting..

I am WAy beyomnf happy. I have caught up with so many discussions etc in a shoret time that I am almost ready to be impatient about members starting discussions faster for me. I have QWest and use IE7 and ever so often I heard a loud rining type sound. Like a phone but short. Any idea what the heck that is? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We are always anxious and do not like waiting too long for anything that we have ordered but if we have a slower medium than we have at the present we have to be gratefull for having that slower one in the first place. Have a great waiting day from deeeky

Yup! Many times I get ants in the pants waiting for something to happen! I don't blame you for being excited and yet stressed over the late delivery! But just think....you've waited all this time to make the change so it will just be a little longer and it will be hooked up and you'll be ready to go!

Take a deep breath and count to 10 grandpa.. I know how you feel, I have had a few times that I was going 90 mph in my head and my thoughts and everyone and everything else was going 10 mph.. I usually just hyperventilate until I am ready to pass out and then I realize how dumb it was of me to get so stressed, because no one else was, just me.. Hope all is well now..

I have been in the same situation as you; impatiently waiting to finally upgrade to DSL. I completely understand your impatience. I kept looking on the website tracking its progress until it finally came.(It's WELL worth the wait I must add, I have no idea how I ever got anything done with dial-up!)

Oh, yes, I have the same problem everytime I wait for payday. lol I know that sounds crazy but the days will go by fast until a few days before and then they just creep by. I am also still impatiently waiting on my stimulous check to come in. Oh wait, did I say impatiently? I guess I should be patiently waiting. lol

oh of course, I can't remember all the things that I was impatient for, but I know delivering my son was a big one, it seemed like it was just never going to happen.

I was the same way when I ordered my dsl, Grandpa Bob. I was on the phone calling the phone company several times a day asking when the modem was going to get here. When it finally arrived, I went right to work hooking it up and ended up being late with my papers that day. I was determined to get it up and running b4 I left for work.

Oh yeah, I remember when we first got internet and then the most recent in the last few months was digital phone, because now I can call anywhere in the country without long distance charges...

I am always anxious and impatient, from the moment that I order something I want it there and then. I have had many a time when I have ordered something that I was told would come on a certain day only to have it not turn up. If I can track it then I too am also on the website trying to track it down if I can and I can never rest until I get it.

hi Grandpa Bob waitiing for things is the pits. because I canno carry heav sacks of groceries in my left arm I have nowbeen buying from albertsons on line which is fine, I mean its a godsend but and itgs a big one there is a twohour time slot which they deliver. fine unless you are out of just about everything and are hjungry and instead of coming at 4 which was the beginning of the time slot they do not come, and your tummy growls and you start to murmur little nasty words words under your breath then its five thirty and a quarter to six and so you phone them, the nice lady says oh they are on the way. If they do not come by fifteen after six then call me back.okay right. so at one minute to six and over the growling of mytummy they do show up. I am the world's worst waiter anyway. I was about to gnaw on the nice delivery man's hand when he handed me the billto sign. but I did refrain.

I'm very impatient. I can't wait an 30 minutes when my boyfriend is late. I seem to get impatient when getting a new haircut and new color at a salon. I really get impatient easily which is really a bad thing. I try to get out of the habit.
