Different Point of View?

I have began reading Cornwell's novels and I have been reading them out of sequence. I noticed that she switches from first person to third person throughout the series of novels. It kind of bothers me. I had a hard time getting into them b/c of this issue. Does anyone know why she did this? Does this bother you when you read a series of novels and they switch narrative point of views? And do you read them in sequence or just jump around?
