I'm a heavy-sleeper and I'm having problems about it. I find it really hard to wake up early...I end up going to school late...I hate it... Have you had any problems being a light/heavy sleeper? Any tips?

I am a light-sleeper, even when I'm drunk or tired from work. I still wake up I hear noises, like dogs barking or someone talking. I used to be a heavy-sleeper too, but I guess I was just pretending to especially when school comes to my mind! I was too stubborn, but glad that I finally overcame it..

Hi vianneyanzu, People actually fall into two categories, day people and night people. The first group are naturally bright and alert during the day, while the second are the reverse, becoming more alert and awake during the night. There's not too much that can be done to get around it if you're a night person. I know for certain that I'm a night person, and have a lot of difficulty getting up early if I have to. Ideally, I'd be awake all night and sleep all day. All I can suggest in your situation is to take up a sport, even swimming, on a daily basis, so that you physically tire yourself out by each evening and can easily go to sleep. On the one hand that might help to shift your circadian rythm enough to make waking up in the morning a bit easier. And on the other hand, you will be fit! Hope that helps a little.

I am a very heavy sleeper in a sense that I have to have enough sleep which is not less than 7 hours a day or else, I would have headaches and feel less energetic. I am a light sleeper also in a sense that I wake up very easily with the slightest movement and noise. I am one of those who gets to wake up every 2 hours of sleeping and then just go back to sleeping.

Hi I am also a heavy sleeper and I am actually a student also. In some two years time, I will be working. I fear if I remain like this then I will be late for work almost everyday. I also want some tips about it. Well, I do have my reasons to sleep profoundly and it's because I train hard in gyms every night and a bodybuilder really needs to sleep in order to allow his muscles to recover. But that is what I am fearing - when I will be working, what will happen? Any tips!? Thanks
