Ezcema

My daughter has had ezcema for as long as I can remember. She was diagnosed around 9 months maybe. The doctor gave us this vaseline looking prescription cream but it doesn't really seem to work to well. She has it the most on her face, tops of her hands, in her antecubital spaces, and behind her knees and legs. We can't use the cream on her face though. I have gotten some special baby ezcema cream from Rite Aid but it's very thick and greasy. Anyone else experience this problem? What do you use to treat it? She has her 2 year check up in a couple weeks so I am going to ask the doc about it again.

For mine I use triamcinolone acetonide cream USP 0.1%. its not that greasy. the pediatrician prescribed it, you can try asking your doc about that. The eczema doesn't come back as fast and now he's 2 1/2 and I very rarely have to use it anymore.

My son has what his doctor called mild eczema. He was given a giant tub of hydrocortisone cream. It helps a little bit, but it is so grease I hate to put it on him. Someone suggested to me that I try Eucerin, but I have yet to buy any.

My sister's son had eczema and it was genetic as in her husband's side of the family they all had it as kids. I found this resource for you to read up on this take a look: http://www.infantseczema.com/28/treatments/eczema-relief.html My sister's son's eczema got cured as he grew up. May be your son's will go to but it will take a lot of treating. My sister applied the creams very regulary.

I haven't had my skin condition diagnosed by a Dr., but it looks like eczema to me. I use Gold Bond Ultimate cream on it. It keeps it from spreading, itching, and flaking. It is not greasy at all, soaks in easily and only takes a tiny dab. I'd suggest you ask her dr if it could possibly be caused by food allergies. My nephew had this from the time he was a very small infant and they finally found out he was allergic to chocolate, eggs, peanuts, coconut and probably a lot of other things too.
