Had a BBQ for dinner today. Part was baked beans cooked on the grill and chips. Have you ever tried scooping baked beans onto a potato chip like this? Man I have to say I love this treat. I have done this since I was a small child and still do it to this day. Try it sometime you may love it. Ignore all of dads meds in the photo. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~!

That sound like a good dinner; when it comes to the grill you can't beat the good flavor that it brings; compared to the stove cooking. I know you had a field day with that plate. Just from the discription that you have i had to comment!!!!! Good eating!!!!

Well now that is a novel idea, I've never tried beans on a potato chip. I dearly love my husband's mexcian bean dip that is made from refried beans mixed with some grated cheese and half jar of hot salsa. We dip nacho chips into that bean mixture. I imagine that the barbeque beans on a potato chip is the same idea actually. I will definitely try it the next time we grill hamburgers. We always have baked beans and chips, I've just never tried them together. Thanks for the idea!

It started as a child. Eating the same meal basically my chips got wet from the beans juices. Mom said it all goes into the same place and comes out the same place so just eat it that way. Ever since I scoop my beans with the chips when I have them. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

BBQ.....Yum! No, I have never eaten a big scoop of baked beans on my potato chips before. I have eaten a few potato chips that ended up getting baked beans on them from them being on the same plate before and I lived to tell about it, so it couldn't be that bad. I have not had baked beans in a long time.

That's sounds delicious. I have never tried to scoop some baked beans into my potato chips before but that sounds like something that I would like to try. Have you ever had creek rock potatoes? It is a baked potato that is is diced up and add salt and pepper, shredded cheese and some chopped onions in it with some bacon bits too. Wrap them in foil and cook them on the grill like that until potatoes are done.

I've had something similiar also cooked on the grill in that fashion. I like hobo stew. Any type of meat you like, browned till done, add that along with your fave veggies like carrots, corn, taters, onions etc. Add a dab of butter, your fave spices and a little water all in a foil like pouch. Wrap the foil so it won't leak being sure to leave a pocket so the steam escapes. Place it on a hot grill or bonfire rack with the folded side up top for about 20 to 30 minutes. Yummmy! I don't really like beans Grandpa Bob. The only type of bean that I can tolerate is the 'mongo' bean. But those big type beans are not just to my liking. However, my niece and my sister seem to love them and would even eat them straight from the can. ewww!

I haven't done that in years but only because baked beans and my tummy don't mix very well. I used to use ruffles chips thou and they were bbq chips as well.

how funny you should mention this... I just enjoyed a midnight snack of chips and beans - actually, though, I put a can of ranch style beans with jalepeno in the blender along with some cream cheese, a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a dash of hot sauce - zap it up and mmmmmm a whole bunch of luscious bean dip for about a buck fifty. I used mission tortilla strip chips. next time I think I will add a tad bit of cilantro.

Ok, I seen what you mean, I kind of do the same.. Baked beans are nothing more than kidney beans with a BBQ sauce, more or less..I use pinto beans and refried them and mix in some taco seasoning and use that as a dip along with taco sauce, lettuce, tomato and cheese... That is really good..

Dinner sounded good, I love BBQ anyway, I cannot wait for some really good weather so that we can have a few ourselves. It has gone a little cold here again though now. I have never had baked beans with potato chips though, maybe I will give it a try at my next BBQ. I expect my kids would like that, they love beans anyway so that would be something different for them to try. If they think it is horrible, I will just send the blame your way!!

I like beans as a dip for corn or tortilla chips.. We had cheeseburgers and asparagus on the grill last night. Our som grilled the asparagus whole, and I discovered you can suckj asparagus out of the tough ends, just like you do for lobster legs.. It was all good!

Yes--- I love baked beans and potato chips :) I always scoop up the beans with the chip--- just gives the chips extra flavor- I also mix my cottage cheese and baked beans from time to time. I love this time of year- when we grill out more than anything -- and eating burgers, baked beans, and chips is enough :)

I haven't tried baked beans on potato chips, but I will the next time I have baked beans. I have to have potato chips on my sloppy joes. I put as many on top as I can, and crush them a little so they'll stay on better. Peanut butter is good on chips too. It's addictive though.

Yes I have done this and I agree that it is very delicious. I also do it just to scoop the beans sauce off of the plate, yum. My Grandfather used to mix his food like this all the time. Using a roll to pick up greens and potatoes, and I think I just ended up doing the same. I don't do it as much anymore, but must admit it makes it taste good.
