Does your kid have a Cabbage Patch Kid?

Earlier I was browsing through the Ebay ads that display here on MyLot and saw an adorable red haired Cabbage Patch Kid doll at auction. The price was extremely good (less than five dollars), considering that these things are real collectibles.
I clicked on the ad to take a look and found that the item had a good deal of damage. Or, at least that's what the seller claimed. Personally, I couldn't see any damage on the doll. The doll looked in good shape to me. My little kid loves her Cabbage Patch Doll (which is original) and I'm thinking of getting her some more.
Does anyone know where to locate a vintage Cabbage Patch Kid in good shape? Do they have new versions of the Cabbage Patch kids (brand new, I mean) for sell at stores? I have not seen any where we live. Would appreciate a link to an online store that sells them if you have one. Thanks!

My son doesn't have any cabbage patch dolls of his own. I think one of mine might be in his toy box, though. Every year from the time I was old enough to get one until I was 11, I got one for Christmas. I also got one for my birthday one year. Most of them are still at my parents' house, but I do have my George Leon doll here, along with one or two of the girls. George Leon was my first one, and I insisted that he be named George Leon, no matter what anyone else said. He went through surgery with me, and the doctor even put an eye patch on him like mine. He's one of my top five favorite childhood toys.

I wanted a Cabbage Patch so bad when I was a little girl. I never got one. But, I got one later before my daughter was born and then gave it to her when she got old enough.

I bought them for my sons when they were little (they're almost 24 and 27 now).
I know they are dolls, but since they were boy dolls and wore boy clothing/accessories, I didn't see a problem with it. No different than them hauling around a teddy bear.
My older son got a regular doll, my younger son got a preemie. They were downright cute.
Our dog chewed a small hole in the leg of one of them, so I used a piece of old pantyhose to patch him up. The kids thought it was great that he had a bandaid, LOL ...

That is a good idea. Boys can develop nurturing too. You are a good parent. Thanks for sharing your story.

my little girl has one. I got her from Kmart. He can try either Kmart or Toys R Us. I am suprised you can't find them where you are. you should be able to get one from either store. I didn't have one when i was little so i wanted to make sure my Olivia got one

Yes, my daughter has a few. Yes, there are new ones for sale in the stores. Go to the Toys R Us website and type in Cabbage Patch Kids to see them.
They aren't that big of a collectible these days, and once they are out of the box they aren't worth anything other than the sentimental value of it. :o)
As far as just buying them for your child to play with, then ones like the one on ebay are just fine usually.
