Foods from a can

Are there certain foods you just cannot eat out of a can? The only thing I can really think of that I can't stand out of a can is mushrooms. I like them fresh, but I guess the way they are preserved/processed for the can makes them very disgusting to me!
I can eat corn, olives, and almost any other vegetable from a can, but mushrooms from a can disgust me! Do you feel the same about mushrooms in a can? Are there also other things you cannot tolerate when coming from a can?

I can't stand any fruit from a can. They always coat them in really sickly syrup and the result is a product that doesn't even taste like fruit at all. I thought fruit was meant to be healthy! I like my fruit to be fresh, to taste how it should and still contain some of its original nutrients! I also don't like canned sweetcorn as that also seems to have some sort of sugary coating that you don't get with fresh or frozen corn. I haven't had canned mushrooms before, but I can imagine that I probably wouldn't like them either!

Exactly, I want healthy fruit with vitamins and the natural sugars, not corn syrup and preservatives!

I'm not very fond of canned vegetables, especially corn, peas and asparagus. I much prefer them fresh or frozen. Although I actually like canned green beans better, don't know why. As for mushrooms, from a jar is OK, I don't like them from a can either. Again, I don't know why, the canned ones taste exactly the same. Some kind of a mental thing...

I know what you mean about the green beans. They always taste better to me if they're in a can, I don't know what they do to them but the preservation process somehow improves the flavour!

I don't eat mushrooms, so I can say on that. But off hand, I can't think of anything that I can't eat from a can as far as veggies go. Most all of my veggies come from cans. That is, until my veggies in my garden are ready.

I agree -- I don't really care for carrots from a can.

The only canned food I actually enjoy is canned soup. xD
I think canned vegetables and things like Spam are just soooo unappetizing. Canned Ravioli and pasta is pretty bad, too.

Yes -- canned pasta is absolutely disgusting! Tastes like metal to me.

I won't eat carrots from a can, they've got to be fresh cooked. Mom did most everything else from a can, but never carrots, so I guess it carried over to me.
Oh yea, potatoes too. Since potatoes are pretty much a staple, it's not like you can't get them fresh all year round.
That ranks right up there with buying pancakes in the frozen food section. What's hard about boiling a potato?

I don't like the canned corn, Yuck... I am more for the fresh stuff.. I know people that can eat that stuff like candy.. My husband is one of them.. Sometimes Can pears aren't the best either they tend to get to mushy with to much juice, I like the fresh pears... I know I'm picky aren't I?

One thing I dislike eating from a can is bambooshoot. I like fresh bambooshoot, like the taste and natural essences. When canned, it loses all that.

I do agree with you on mushrooms. But I do use them to cook with at times when fresh mushrooms aren't on sale at the store. Another thing that I don't like from the can are potatoes and carrots. Those should also always be fresh, in my opinion.
