Last night the kids played in the pool and after they were done, we had a weenie roast in the back yard. The kids loved looking for the wood to burn and the hotdogs turned out great. the only thing we forgot to get was the marshmallows. A campfire is not the same without marshmallows. We are going to try to this as often as we can, cause the kids really enjoy it. when was the last time you had a weenie roast?? how often do you do one??

Hi There, We do a weenie roast at least a couple of times every summer. You are right that marshmallows make the whole roast even better. The thoughts of seeing those marshmallows in the logs of the fire are making me wish it was summer right now! It is a great way to spend time with the kids. cheers,

We haven't had a weenie roast in about three years - the last time that we were camping. I agree about the whole maarshmallow thing. It's the best part of a campfire. We'll be going camping this summer so I'm sure weiners and marshmallows will be on the menu.

We haven't had a weenie roast in forever, I bet 3 or 4 years. Although, last night was a great night and we sat around a friend's firepit in the backyard. It was really nice out.

Last year I went with my son and his family up to northern Minnesota to a lodge and we had a camp fire at night...we made somores....they were very good. A couple of months later my little granddaughter who was just two....was visiting....and we were gathering up leaves and I helped her make a college from them...anyway she suddenly was piling up little branches....she got a little pile then sat on the edge of the tree and said...now we can have fireworks ( she meant a fire)LOL.....I think it's something really fun to do for the kids! Kudos to you!

We just had s'mores last night - but they were cooked by mom (moi) over the grill. We want to make a fire pit in our backyard (at our old house we just made a circle of concrete blocks and had a fire there a few times). We haven't figured out exactly which part of the yard yet. We are trying to plan a weekend trip up to some campgrounds this summer. I'm sure we'll do a weenie roast and marshmallow thing then.
