An update on my kitty, Alfred

Well I went in to pick him up last night and the vet said they're still concerned about him because whatever he got into has burnt him on the side of his face, above and around his eye. They're worried that the eye will begin to ulcerate and if it does, well, Alfred will lose the eye.
It was awful to see him in so much pain, his wound was itchy and his breathing was still crackly. It was heartbreaking but he's now on pain relief and more antibiotics and if he doesn't deteriorate before Friday I can probably bring him home. So it's a waiting game for me and my fiance until then.
Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. It means a lot to me. I didn't get to sleep until about four o'clock this morning because I was so worried but your kind comments have made me feel much better

I'm so sorry to hear about kitty Alfred... bless his sweet little heart!! They're so sweet and innocent and have no clue about the dangers in life. I wish I could gather them all up and put them on a fenced in farm land of many acres to keep them all safe but of course I'm not a millionaire so as it stands it's all wishes. I will say a prayer for him as well as you that he gets well fast and that you have the sanity to keep going.

Thanks so much cats and dogs. I'd love to have a big farm as well where I could rescue all the hurt and abused animals and keep them safe. And I'd only employ animal lovers like you to help me take care of them all!

Awww that's so sweet of you!! But you know, you wouldn't have to employ me, I'd volunteer gladly!! I love animals and to be able to help them would be my dying wish come true! Maybe some day something like that will happen.... if and when I ever get rich enough. lol Then I'll come looking for you!!

I am sorry to hear about your kitty being hurt. We miss them so much when they are gone I hope the pain meds are helping and the antibiotics kick in she your kitty does not lose his eye.
My 5 month old kitty Jazzers had to stay at the vet Saturday night and Sunday night as my daughter shut her back right leg in the door and fractured it so she is in a cast for 3 weeks while it heals.
I sure hope your kitty gets better. I will be looking for an update Friday on how Alfred is doing.

I cannot believe he is so poorly, it must be horrible for you to see him like that the poor little mite. I really hope that he gets better soon for you. xx

Oh poor you and poor Alfred! Please make sure that your fiancé does not feel guilty as kittens are a bit like children and you cannot keep them out of things - it was just an accident. I do hope that Alfred feels better with the painkillers and antibiotics, please keep us up to date, hugs xxx

Coffeeshot I just read about your Alfred I am thinking of you an of course alfred I hope you have a vet like I had when my cat nikkie when he was hit by a car he lost his kidneys an use of his back legs but his vet was an angel she didn't give up on him an nikkie got his back legs back an use of his kidneys again an I was blessed to have him 10 more years after his accendent i told you this to give you the hope that nikkie's vet gave me good luck you are all in my thoughts

Hi coffeeshot! I do believe that he will overcome this and be home on Friday looking so cute and healthy as before because there will be a lot of mylotters praying for little Alfred including me.

Hey there. It must be really painful for Alfred. I just hope it can become better soon. But with your family love I think it will make it a little easier for it to go through all this. Good luck to Alfred.

I'm sorry to hear about Alfred coffeeshot.
I hope that he gets well soon without having to lose his eye.
I have a diva of my own her name is cookie, and i know how curious they can be, we've had to put away lots of things that can be a danger to her.I hope that you can bring him home soon and in purrfect health. Best wishes.

Oh poor Alfred! Please give him big cuddles and purrs from us when you visit him next.
He's in the best possible place, and although I'm sure he missed you as much as you miss him, I'm sure everyone is doing their absolute best to have him well again soon.
Fingers crossed for him coming home on Friday!

Thanks for the update on Alfred. I do hope his eye doesn't ulcerate; you will be on pins worrying about him, and hoping this doesn't happen. It's so sad what has happened, he's just a little kitten, and my heart goes out to you and your fiance, but especially to Alfred.
Please let us know the outcome coffee, and you will all be in my prayers hoping for a good result for him.

Thank you for the update on Alfred. I do hope he does not have to lose the eye, but if he does he will soon adjust. I'm glad he is on painkillers and antibiotics so he is not suffering too much from the pain. I can understand why you did not sleep well, but do look after yourself because little Alfred will need your loving care when he gets home.
