I think about it a lot but not doing much about it at the moment. Did well before winter settled in and can't seem to get back into exercising now that it's Spring. The weather doesn't help either.
We started reading food labels when my hubby was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes a while back but since then we have gone back to what we know already and just buy what we want. Not good but oh well, its hard to keep going.
I have since put on a few more pounds and feel I need to do something soon. In time I will when I get motivated again.

With my sugar issues, nutrition is very important. I am able to control mine with diet and herbs and would like to keep it that way. I am overweight, but I have lost 14 lbs. Not the healthiest way, mostly because of the Bell's Palsy which made eating a little difficult. Also, part of it water weight that came off due to the blood pressure meds. That needed to come off. I do exercise, not daily, but a few times a week. Since I take so many herbs I think about my health daily. Since they changed my blood pressure meds I think about it more having to keep up with my levels so I can report to the doctor whom I see on Friday. Anyhow, I would like to lose about 9 more lbs. However, I want to do it the healthy way.
Hugs

Well, it's important enough to me that in the last year I have lost 58 pounds, gotten exercising more, changed my diet and have been studying for a doctorate in natural medicine!
I think about my health a little each day and work on it and have gotten off 3 medicines of 4 I used to take last year!
I do read all food labels and if I do not know what an ingredient is, I do not buy the food now and make it from scratch with things I do know now.

I work out at least 6 days a week and I read labels on everything. This started about 2 years ago after I realized I was the heaviest I had ever been and my cholesterol was through the roof. WE made major changes in our lifestyle and I believe it was for the best.

How do you keep yourself motivated? I always start off really well then I fade and give up later on.

Nutrition is very important to me. My brother had a heart attack and was lucky to survive. He is losing weight and so am I to live longer. It was a real wake up call to change our lifestyle. I do some form of exercise every day. I'm drinking more water and do read food labels. There are no excuses for me to make as I want to grow old with my husband.

Rosekitty, I think about my health every single day. When I am craving a piece of that chocolate cake I made for dinner the night before for the "KIDS" and I go ahead and indulge in a lg slice and a big glass of whole milk, I am thinking about my health. Well how bad it is for me to have just eaten it that is. For the most part I do eat right, and cook right for my family. I was more active than I have been the last couple of months. Now that spring is here, I will get back at it again. We have a Y membership. I read food labels always. I just don't over indulge for the most part.... all thing in moderation.

Hi Rosekitty, I was actually only thinking about my health at work earlier and was talking to my collegue and saying that when I do the weekly shop tmorrow I will oly be buying fresh fruit and vegetables as I have been having too many toasted cheese sandwiches and junk food lately which is actually quite unlike me. I usually don't think about it too often though as in general I do eat a healthy diet and do a lot of walking and swimming. I don't read the labels too often and I believe everything in moderation is okay. Ellie :D

as a diabetic I have tothink about my health everyday
and eat the right foods in the right amounts.
I have a huge struggle with my weight however. I do
read food labels and should workout but I have a bad
leg and a bad arm thus I need a workout that I can
do anyway.
