Yesterday, i got a short message on my cellphone from my colleague, suggesting that recently i not eat fresh-water fish. It said that there's choleraic bacteria found in fish in Ningbo,Zhe Jiang Provice, this bacteria will cause meningitis. At the end of message, it calls every receiver to forward to those you care about. I forward no less than 20 people, as i'm to afraid of meningitis.
Lots of friend say" thanks", and some expressed their surprise, i guess they'd quit eating fish from the very moment they receive the message.
One friend who didn't reply repsponded this morning, tolding me that the message was totally a rumor. I have nothing to say, but feel shamed. She persuaded me to check before telling others, don't be a rumor spreader especially when our country's facing such a catastophe.
I couldn't agree more.
Do you sometimes spread the rumor comes from you friends or beloved that you trust very much? Maybe they don't realize that's a rumor just like me.
I'd better be more sensible
Enjoy life~~~~~

I think when it comes to the information about health related issues I would send the info on to my friends before checking it out, but I mean my friends would appreciate that I care enough about them to send it on you know.

Hello, rmuxagirl, thanks for sharing. Yeah, i guess if i got one like this, although it's fake, i'd appreciate my friend's kindness. At least, it's not out of their thoughts

Because of the internet and cellphone, it's easier to spread the rumors today. In fact sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's true or not. I receive many news via the net everyday. And I have to wait for some time to see whether it's true. Don't blame yourself. As you are even not sure about it and we tend to trust the messages from our friends.
I love China

Thanks, youless, you're right, i trust friend, maybe my friend trust hers, then it became a big spreading channel without knowing who's the real starter. Our govt begins to control on this kind of rumor spread. I read newspaper and found that some guys create rumor just out of tomfoolery, and two guys were retained because of this kind of weird behavior, disgusting!! Every person's caring about the disaster-hit people, they try to make up rumors to cause panic, just for fun?!

Yeah sometimes those simple misinformation can create bigger problems in the future. You're friend is right and you should verify the information before you spread the rumor to others which may take it seriously and would realized that the information is wrong. Anyway what is done is already done and you should just make amends for it and hopefully you learn from it and would not do anything anymore to make things right.

Hello,,rsa101, you're right. I thought it was from my colleague, she'd not cheat me, then i forwarded it, didn't pay much attention. My friend's right, i admire for her. And this afternoon i got another email, saying some other thing, this time i decide not to forward before checking. I shouldn't help those rumor spreaders and be one myself.
Thanks for sharing, enjoy life~~
