I scanned my PC. There's no malware, spyware, or any virus. But my PC is still slow despite of it's high memory. I am not moving the mouse but the pointer is moving. Programs in my PC is running when I am not doing nothing. What's wrong with my PC? What can I do? I have posted a question here yesterday asking for suggestions about the best antivirus. I have tried everything but nothing seemed to work. I don't want to reformat my PC. :0(

In windows xp when you hit the alt+ctrl+del button you will see the programs that are running on your machine. It may be that you have something running in the background whithout knowing it. Adobe Acrobat Reader is one of those things that you may use once so look at a pdf but it will keep running. Try that and see what's running on your machine that shouldn't be there. And don't forget that you may have a lot of gigs of file space that doesn't necessarily mean that your RAM is going to be very fast. Your random access memory is important to remember when talking about how fast/slow things are. Usually it helps to just clean out your cache and cookies and you'll see a remarked increase in performance.
